Product Details

Ventile is a densely woven 100 percent cotton fabric developed in England during World War II and was the solution to a problem the Royal Air Force was having. After losing shot-down pilots to exposure in the Arctic Ocean, they switched their flight suits to Ventile and found that the survival rate skyrocketed thanks to the fabric's waterproof nature. After decades of high performance, it's still used today for the RAF and NATO air forces and in this hooded jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect Spring Jacket This jacket is amazingly well made and is probably one of my favorite jackets in my closet. It is made from Ventile material which is waterproof, and not only this, it is relatively light weight. I especially love the white accents to the jacket. In my opinion I would say that this jacket is superior to a jacket made of Gore-Tex because not only is it a breathable waterproof jacket, but it is also thicker and doesn't make an obnoxious noise when you walk around. The fit is somewhat slimmer, and if that isn't good enough, it also was waist drawstring cords. One downside of the drawstring cords is that don't have anything to hold them in place, so you have to tie them. I would say the only major downside to this jacket is the price, but overall I would say the price is worth it. I would definitely recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a fashionable rain jacket that will probably last for a very long time. June 20, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor quality After just over two months of use the fabric has been fraying and losing its ability to block out moisture. Because of the shoddy material, after an outing in the rain, my clothes inside have been soaked through. I bought this jacket because I liked the style, but had I known that this jacket would start falling apart in two months, I would not have purchased. This is a $100 jacket quality marked up to $500. Save your half grand and buy something else. July 16, 2014
