Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fight the scourge of skinny trousers I'd searched high and low in UK stores for a decent loosish pair of chinos without success. Wondering why no one seemed to cater for men who like a bit of room to move in their trousers I took to the Internet where I came across J Crew. To my delight, they produce the perfect chinos. They are loose but still shapely and so far seem to be of good quality. What's more, with the waist sizes being in one inch increments most people should be able to find their size. For comparison I also tried the relaxed fit but found these to be loose to the point of looking somewhat clownish on me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unhemmed option perfect for tall guys These pant are the best! Please bring back the unhemmed option for the tall, skinny guys. 34 length is too short.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from These are chinos, not man tights. If you're among those of us who think the slimming trend has gotten a bit too trim, these are a nice alternative. These chinos are cut full and with a higher rise than is customary these days. This is a good traditional fit. They could almost have come straight from the Ivy campuses of the early 60s. I only wish that the colors were better. I don't get why there's no true stone color and a light tan khaki. The only thing better would be to see the return of J. Crew's officer chinos from a few years back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from IS NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE I gave Style and Qaulity 3/5 because I like the style and they fit well. Also, while they still seem well made, I feel the quality of fabric and a few design changes have lessened over the years. I haven't purchased a pair in about 2 years because the "Regular Fit" rarely has new and interesting colors. Since i haven't picked up a pair in a couple years I was expecting changes, and there were. 1st, the fabric is noticeably thinner and looser in drape. This might be nice to some but compared to my older pairs. 2nd, the fabric has a very subtle hind of stretch to it. Look designers, I buy regular fit because it's a little roomier, I don't need stretch on top of that. The stretchier and thinner fabric just makes the whole thing feel cheaper. 3rd, the leg is about ½" to 1" narrower than old Essential fit from 5 prior. And Lastly, they put the care label right behind the zipper flap, and it's really long and loose. Nice work designers. You had a great cut of pant. Why did you change it?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Was My Favorite Chino I've been buying J. CREW Essential Chinos for many years. The sizing and fabric quality has gone way down. I like to buy different fits, classic, regular, and relaxed. Why have they stopped making the classic and relaxed versions? This is a big disappointment. They should be brought back to diversify the selection choices. I am not into the latest slim or urban styles.
