Order the slim fit if you want a more tapered smart casual look versus the freedom/width of a worksheet. Just note that the color of the faded bluegrass and charcoal shirts are different from that shown on the JCrew website. The faded bluegrass is actually a bit darker (which I much preferred) and the charcoal color is more slate and doesn't have the blue undertones ( which I would have preferred)

fabric and construction of the shirt is excellent. true to the original, those box pleated chest pockets come in generous size and are especially useful.
faded blue grass and khaki are both excellent alternative from your typical blue and navy. both color and fabric are versatile enough to wear all year round. you wont regret getting them.

These shirts really hold there shape well. I bought all 4 colors, really like the ones I was able to get in the slim size, great fit. The black one is like a dress shirt, looks great with jeans.

I have many J Crew shirts, from oxfords, to flannels and secret wash, and this new one is a strong contender for my new favorite. It fits me very well and seems to have slightly more room in the arms and torso than my other shirts in the same size (XS slim), which I find to be a good thing. I have a slim, athletic build (not bulky athletic) but even so the small amount of room is welcome. I have the faded bluegrass color and so far it has been very versatile. The fabric is on the thicker side, but not overly so, and although it has a workwear feel to it, it is soft enough to not feel constricting. The quality is on par with my other J Crew shirts, if not slightly above due to the quality feeling of the fabric. Overall this is a great shirt and I really enjoy wearing it!

For those of you complaining that this shirt has a relaxed fit: that's how they should be! This is a work shirt, not a dress shirt. It's not supposed to be super fitted. Of course I love slim shirts too but clothes are meant to be used in different occasions. If these were slim fit, they wouldn't be true to their heritage. If you look at old Steve McQueen an Paul Newman pictures, you'll probably see them wearing shorts like these.
