Product Details

Timeless, versatile and seriously stylish, the Ludlow tuxedo is a great excuse to finally stop renting. (A car, yes. Your tux, no.) This one is crafted in brushed wool flannel from an Italian mill that's been family owned for 16 generations and has been considered one of the best in the world since the Duke of Savoy became its first recorded customer. In other words, it's one of the best investments a man can make.

Ludlow tuxedo jacket in Italian wool flannel

Ludlow tuxedo jacket in Italian wool flannel is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from So much right; material, fit, some details... Material is lush, nearly black, so still semi-formal. Lapel face satin, high value feel. Details above chest are perfect; lapel self faced around collar, peak lapel button hole is at the right angle, fit is superb. Trousers that go with this jacket are perfect. Details get odd below the chest. Why two buttons on peak lapel tuxes, but one button on shawl collars? Evening jackets have only one button, ever. Why the flap pockets? Evening jackets are meant to be slim, flap pockets are bulky (Double besom though, so tailor can cut it off). Why brown buttons? They're nice buttons, but they're for a suit. Evening jackets aren't meant to be suits. No waist cover pictured; J.Crew sells a cummerbund, but those are for shawl collars, peak lapels need a vest. Frustrating- it's almost a fantastic tux. The details make it a dressed up suit though, and people who plan a black tie party will know it. Please make a one button version. Flaps can be cut off, but a button hole can't be sewed closed.
