Sperry Top-Sider has a long-standing tradition with the military. Back in 1935, Paul Sperry, an avid boater, developed a non-slip sole inspired by the grooves of his dog's paws, which proved to be very useful on slippery decks. The design was so successful that Sperry received a contract from the U.S. Navy to make shoes for its sailors. This sneaker is made with that very same sole and is constructed in hand-stamped, vintage army tent fabric, meaning every pair will be slightly different but equally as cool.
