Rated 4 out of 5 by Draper Updated, old school style!
Tried this shirt on in the store; it fits well, feels crispy, neither too thick nor too thin -- would be a great layer piece but not thick enough for an outer layer unless you live in SoCal or somewhere really warm. The style is definitely back in and reminds me of the great Biggie Smalls reminiscing about "way back, when I had the red and black lumberjack..." Very cool return of the old school style, slimmed up and so updated by J Crew. I'd buy it in a second if it were a bit warmer.

Would give more than 5 stars if possible. The quality is top notch, and the fit is somehow both big enough to layer over a sweater but slim enough that if worn as a shirt it doesn't look baggy. Basically the perfect fall jacket or winter layering piece.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Fongay Modern Take on a Classic Style
I've been looking awhile for a shirt jack in buffalo check but haven't been able to find a sturdy, good-quality one until this. Super classic look with modern update. As another review stated, it is a bit boxy on the body but I believe that's a good thing so you can layer shirts and sweaters underneath and still have mobility. I am 5'11" and 175 lbs, 40 in chest, trim build with broad shoulders, the medium fit well. I tried a small and it was too tight around the chest and the sleeves were short a few inches to my wrists. Thumbs up to the other review about the red and black lumberjack with the hat to match!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dine Women can wear it too!
I've really been into men's wear lately. I usually wear a size S (M when I want a looser fit) and I ordered an XS for me. XS is still big on me but that was the look I wanted and leaves room for lots of layering. I took it on my trip to Europe this November and wore it almost everyday. It's looked really great with jeans, leggings, skirts, and dresses. The fabric can be rough/itchy initially but gets better with use. I anticipate wearing this piece season after season.

Rated 4 out of 5 by RP206 Super boxy - order down a size
I got this in a medium (I'm 6' 1", 175lbs) and it's massive on me. Bigger than my actual coats. It's a solid shirt, though, surprisingly warm, seems well made. But even to use as an overshirt/jacket it's a bit big, so I'd recommend ordering down a size.
