Rated 5 out of 5 by Adam A slimmer option to the Classic Bedale
If you are looking at this jacket, you know whats up. If you are loving the Classic Bedale jacket, but want a slimmer fit with proper length sleeves, look at this; the Ashby jacket. It's pretty much a slimmer Bedale jacket with gold snap covers, and no knitted cuff on the inside of the sleeve. Instead you get a nice corduroy cuff on the inside. Though it is not made in the UK, the quality is still just as good. Double seams are missing, but that isn't a deal breaker.
This jacket won't ever go out of style, and you will get many years of mileage out of it. Rewax it yourself once a year, or send it away to Barbour to have them take care of it.
You can't go wrong with the classic Barbour jacket.

I live in the pacific northwest where it is wet and mild for about half of the year. This jacket is perfect for keeping dry without adding bulk or too much insulation. I am a 44R and the XL fits perfectly. The jacket is trim, not overly baggy, with enough room for a layer or two if I need to add a sweater or blazer on a cold day. The jacket is well constructed and I have no doubt it will last a very long time.

First on sizing, Barbour tends to make their products boxy and short in the sleeves. I was intrigued by the notion that this was more of a fitted/slightly tailored cut. Fortunately, it is indeed! However, this is not a slim cut but the waist and lower half is not as wide as Barbour typically produces. I am 5'10", 170lbs, 40 chest, 31 waist and went with a L. The sleeves length was adequate and not short. In fact, I like wearing the jacket with the sleeves rolled just enough to see the corduroy cuffs.
This is a nice Spring, early to mid Fall coat that you could layer under. Its a coat that you could wear out to dinner or to the office - or raking leaves in the backyard. The picture on the website is fairly accurate as the coat is a dark navy color with the corduroy color being slightly more of a lighter shade than the coat itself - but still dark blue. I do believe that this is going to be my primary go-to coat. I am pleased with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by David Try it on first.
When I ordered this jacket, I was expecting to need a medium after reading the other reviews, which say to size up. I am 5'10", 155 lbs, 38 jacket, and 31/30-32/30 pants. I went in to a local store that carried Barbour and tried on the medium first. Didn't feel way too big, but definitely felt large. Tried on the small and it was a perfect fit. I made sure to wear a sweater and undershirt when I tried it on as well. Been wearing for a few days now and definitely glad I went with a small, still room for a liner.
Be sure to try this on first if possible, or order two sizes and return one - This is a piece that will last a lifetime. Unbelievable quality, construction, materials. You will get tired of all the compliments.

its great utility style , Its fits small yet its not fitted as the image suggest.
take a Large if you are a medium or it would be too small, but don't expect it to fit snug as the image it more boxy.
Overall I like the classic style for men.
