Rated 5 out of 5 by RED WINGS: A LIFETIME INVESTMENT Just as I was saving up the money to buy a pair of Red Wing Beckmans, J. Crew listed their own special version. Credit card debt be damned!! GREAT LEATHER: The leather, while not the legendary Horween Leather from Chicago, is still great. It's supple, tough and smooth. GREAT SUPPORT: I broke my ankle last winter, and I can tell you my bum ankle feels normal in a pair of Beckmans. The support is a double-edged sword, though. Once you've laced up, your feet are locked inside of those boots. Taking the boots off always seems harder than putting them on. The boots run a little wide, but keep in mind that (a) they slowly mold to your feet over time and (b) you might want a little room down there for thicker socks in the winter. I can't recommend these boots enough!! They will last a lifetime, through thick and thin, feast and famine. If I had the dough, I'd buy a second pair in another color. I just might do that anyway. Rated 4 out of 5 by Stylish, Burnishing is Overrated Very handsome boot but it has some QC issues. The 1st pair I received contained a boot that was heavily burnished and a boot that wasn't burnished at all. My exchange order was cancelled with the reason being that these boots were no longer going to be stocked and sent back to the manufacturer. 2 weeks later, the boot was still in stock, which worked out since I was able to place a 3rd order during the holiday sale. The 2nd pair still suffered from burnishing issues BUT this issue becomes moot after you condition your boots with the suggested Red Wing conditioner. The mink oil will darken the boot and even out the tones. The leather has a matte finish, unlike the regular Featherstone leather. The Roccia sole is awesome and provides enough grip for wet hills. I went with the suggested 1/2 size down and they were snug, not tight, for the first day or two but have since stretched out in width a bit. All in all, these boots are very stylish and I've gotten a couple of compliments. December 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Beckman Boots Love these boots! Well constructed, love the color, and made of quality leather. Because of this, they are extremely versatile and will go with virtually anything. I was excited the moment they arrived when I took first took them out of the box. Love them. Thank you, J. Crew! October 27, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by Well-made and looks great! I got the brown boots. These are beautifully constructed and look sharp, even for a "work boot." These are built to last. October 8, 2015
