Rated 4 out of 5 by These are chinos, not man tights. If you're among those of us who think the slimming trend has gotten a bit too trim, these are a nice alternative. These chinos are cut full and with a higher rise than is customary these days. This is a good traditional fit. They could almost have come straight from the Ivy campuses of the early 60s. I only wish that the colors were better. I don't get why there's no true stone color and a light tan khaki. The only thing better would be to see the return of J. Crew's officer chinos from a few years back. June 12, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice pants I have bought both regular and classic fit. The waist of the regular fit is about one inch larger than classic (ie if you wear 32 in classic then buy 33 in regular). The legs in the regular are baggier than the classic. If you have big legs these may work for you. The material is nice and softens up after a few washes. May 30, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not as good as they used to be I have bought many a pair of pants from jcrew, and it would seem that they quality if your clothes continues to go down. These pants are lighter and clearly much cheaper than the ones they are replacing. September 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by staple I have loved these pants for the past 15 some odd years. This recent purchase was to replace a pair that had gotten too worn out to wear to work, however, those will be moved to the weekend rotation. I am a big fan of your clothing. I was taking my kids to the bus stop the other morning and I was wearing my barn jacket that I purchased my freshman year of college in 1993. My 7 year old daughter told me she liked my jacket, and that's when I realized it was 21 years old! Keep up the good work. October 10, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by IS NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE I gave Style and Qaulity 3/5 because I like the style and they fit well. Also, while they still seem well made, I feel the quality of fabric and a few design changes have lessened over the years. I haven't purchased a pair in about 2 years because the "Regular Fit" rarely has new and interesting colors. Since i haven't picked up a pair in a couple years I was expecting changes, and there were. 1st, the fabric is noticeably thinner and looser in drape. This might be nice to some but compared to my older pairs. 2nd, the fabric has a very subtle hind of stretch to it. Look designers, I buy regular fit because it's a little roomier, I don't need stretch on top of that. The stretchier and thinner fabric just makes the whole thing feel cheaper. 3rd, the leg is about ½" to 1" narrower than old Essential fit from 5 prior. And Lastly, they put the care label right behind the zipper flap, and it's really long and loose. Nice work designers. You had a great cut of pant. Why did you change it? September 12, 2014
