Rated 1 out of 5 by Nancy Nice fit but terrible quality!
I purchased this for my brother over Christmas. He had hardly worn it once when a small hole appeared. This whole got bigger and bigger over time and now it has a huge hole! I think J. Crew has issues with some of its merino wool items. I have five or so Tippi sweaters and while most of them are fine, one of them developed a similar hole which grew over time. It's a shame because this sweater is nicely cut and very appropriate for spring. It runs a little bit small for J. Crew so I would size up. The quality is just inexcusable though!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Luke Small and poor quality
I purchase plenty of JCrew clothes, and this sweater runs particularly small. I returned, sized up, and it fit fine. After three wears, however, I notice a hole both in the armpit and neck area. That shouldn't happen for a $50+ sweater.

Rated 2 out of 5 by tyty Slim fit, but holed after a dozen wears
This merino wool sweater developed a hole on the back after about a dozen wears. Now, this isn't the worst for thin merino wool clothing which is prone to holes, but I was hoping for more wears regardless.
Other details: it's soft and not scratchy. The fit is just about as slim and tapered as you're going to get from a mall brand, which is to say not that slim and tapered, but a Large fit my ~40 inch chest and ~30 inch waist acceptably. The Cobblestone color is actually darker and grayer than it's depicted in the image.

I've been buying jcrew merino sweaters for years and they are well made and comfy. Overall I'm happy with my purchase but this particular sweater was a little tighter fit than the other colors I already had.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Martin great slim fit sweater
Excellent fitting sweater if you like a snug fit. I am 6'1'', 160lb and this sweater fits really well. Usually I find J. Crew slim fit runs a bit larger, but this sweater is perfect and true to it's name. Nice quality wool, too. Got a second one.
