if it were socially acceptable i would only wear this shirt. i mean, literally: all day, every day. could sleep in it, go to work in it, etc.

While it is "cut more narrowly," if you stick with your charted J. Crew size, i.e., don't size down, this will give you a trim but comfortable fit. I'm 6.1, 190 pounds, and the Large is perfect. Trim but comfortable, with just enough room in the chest and waist so that the shirt not only looks good when I'm standing but also lets me breathe when I sit or bend down.
Fabric and details, like the buttons, seem to be good quality.
I only wish the collar were a little bigger and had more of a roll.

Although I usually wait until something goes on sale, I made an exception for this shirt. The color is perfect - slightly darker than in the pictures - as is the fit, and oxford cloth only gets better with time. The collar is too narrow for a tie, but is the perfect length for a no-tie look. A beefy collar would look out of place on this shirt.
If you're slim, buy one (or several). You won't regret it.

Lovely shirt but will need some small tailors alterations before I could truly call it slim fit.

As a woman, I love the vintage oxfords even though they can only be worn with jeans and sweaters. If the same fabric were to be used for a woman's cut oxford shirt, I would certainly buy them in both long sleeve and short sleeve for summer.
