Not everyone is 6' plus so guys with shorter legs need not look like a five year old wearing dads shorts anymore. I find the double button waist and heavy duty brass zipper just a few of the fine construction qualities of these shorts. I have several pair and that's all I wore in Hawaii recently (worked great with a light linen shirt (untucked, of course) even though I brought other designer shorts with me. In my opinion, and I am VERY particular about my clothing, I would highly recommend these.

I first purchased these last year and I always get compliments when I wear them so I purchased a few more this season. When you are 5'8", as I am, it's nice to have a short option that fits my proportions. Selfishly, I would like to see a few more color options for next year. Perfect with boat shoes, espadrilles, or sneakers.

Love these shorts!!! At first I was a bit worried about how short they would be. The fit and feel on them on, is very comfortable. I received many compliments on the shorts. I recommend them to others!!!

Really great pair of shorts with a loose fit. I'm a 30 and the 30 waist was a little big on me, but quite comfortable and looks great.
Love that J.Crew is doing a 5'' pair of shorts.

I bought these because I have a pair of J. Crew men's pants that I really like. I will be buying the men's shorts from now on and will slowly be replacing my women's shorts. Ways that these are superior to the women's chino shorts:
1. The button waist closure is smoother and less cinching that the hook and bar closure on the women's chino shorts.
2. The full back pockets are actually more flattering. With the women's shorts, the tiny half pocket ends right at the biggest part of your butt, so if you put ANYTHING in there, it is outlined right there. The Stanton shorts pockets are big enough to at least hold lip balm and some small essentials.
3. The Stanton short has 2 more belt loops than the women's chino shorts. The belt loops just happen to be located in the spot where a woman could use them most: on the back sides.
I think these cost a little more than the women's chino shorts, but for me the details are worth it.
