An exquisite objet d'art brought to us by Intiq, a pioneer in helping native artisans around the globe preserve their ways of life. Each bag is entirely handwoven by the women of the Wayuu tribe (an indigenous community that has lived in the Colombia/Venezuela desert region for centuries) and takes days to complete. Handed down from mother to daughter for generations, the tribe's traditional weaving techniques—and these colorful carriers—are a constant part of daily life. With their intricate geometric designs; brilliant, exclusive-to-crewcuts color palette; and compelling story, we couldn't help shouldering up to these stunning bags and their cause. (Because they are handmade, each one has its own unique character—so no two will ever be exactly the same.)
