Beware the reviews from 2020
October 22, 2021If you scroll down you'll see a bunch of reviews from 2020 stating that the color of this jacket is BLACK and not brown. This is correct—in the FW2020 season J Crew had this jacket in "espresso," which looked brown in the website pictures but was black in person. HOWEVER, this year, in 2021, the jacket is actually brown. The online pictures are accurate for the 2021 version; it's a classic brown corduroy. This jacket runs smaller than J Crew's other blazers, which was confirmed to me by a salesperson in store. I love the peak lapel on this jacket, which subtly elevates this and makes it more modern.

It’s Brown!
September 16, 2021I don’t ever write reviews but after reading the whole black/brown debate in making this decision, I felt compelled to weigh in once my jacket arrived. This is a dark brown jacket. It isn’t black. Like anything in the dark, it may look a lot darker in the dark, but there is such a thing as dark brown. I’ve attached a photo (with a tiny little bit of natural light) so you can see for yourself. Also, jacket has a great (slim) cut and a perfect fit. Could wear with a dress shirt, t-shirt, sweatshirt, etc.

Very COOL
January 23, 2021This is a very stylish Jacket. You can see it’s true (Micha) colors under sun or bright light. But, surely it’s not Black.. Very designer style, modern cut..Versatile and can be worn in a longe range of combinations or even in weather so do speak..

Nice suit but color looks black
December 1, 2020I was looking for a more casual dark brown suit so I decided to give this suit a try despite the reviews saying it appeared very dark, almost black. I have to agree that it does appear to be black in all light which may change what can be matched with it. Peak lapels and patch pockets would seem to be slightly at odds given the latter's more formal appearance and the former's more casual tilt but they work well together on this jacket. The overall quality is great but be warned that it may not work with what a brown suit would otherwise match.
