Terrible quality, great style
January 26, 2018I looked for a peacoat for a long time before finding this - I'm a small guy and needed an extra small. It fits great, looks great, but it's been awful quality since the day I bought it. -The right chest button fell off after less than a month. -The left chest button fell off in the first year. -The bottom button fell off a few months later. -The left outside breast pocket ripped itself to shreds in a few months, so I can't use it anymore. -The material on the lower left pocket has somehow worn off, showing what's underneath and looking generally old/ratty after only 2 winters. I use this coat to sit on a train and walk to work in Boston. Not exactly hard duty. It's way less warm than I thought (even wearing a sweater and a light down coat underneath it is barely warm enough when it's <30* out). I can't believe how awfully this thing has held up, especially for the price. Pass on this one.

surprisingly warm
February 29, 2016I was pleasantly surprised at how effective the Thinsulate lining was at keeping me warm, even in parka weather. The chest could use a little more of a taper to make the bottom less boxy, but great piece overall.

February 5, 2016The pea coat came well packaged and still had that new smell. Fit great and looked great, if you are looking for a coat this is great for the price and quality.

As pictured, but with some flaws
February 4, 2016I received this jacket in the Charcoal and it looks just as pictured. I am 6', 220 and purchased a large. It fits, but is fitted in the shoulders--I don't mind this but I think some may feel constricted when wearing. There were several reviews that say it "bells" out at the bottom--I did not notice--but I'm a not slender and I think if you are on the slender side it may have that appearance. As for it's flaws--the buttons are loose on arrival--All of them! I will have to take it to my tailor to be re-sewn--I'm not sure how that is possible on so many jackets. The other issue which is not product related, the front pockets were full of the soft security tags--which knowing from my years in retail are a sign that someone was shoplifting and cut all the tags from items and they dumped them into my jacket. While this is not a product flaw--I found it disappointing to receive a "new" item that was used as a dumping ground for someone shoplifters trash.

Great Peacoat, Consider Sizing Down
January 13, 2016I ended up going with a Small (my usual size in J.Crew outwear). I'm 5'10", 168, and I was kind of drowning in the medium coat. For reference, I'm a 36r Ludlow Suiting, Medium Slim shirts, 38r Ludlow topcoat...
