Love it, but bring back slim cut
March 12, 2022High quality and love the side pocket addition to this year's model. Please bring back the slim cut next year!

Best Iteration of the Shacket
February 8, 2022The material is nice and thick, almost a wool-like feel except its not scratchy on the skin at all. Great hand warmer pockets.

As good as it looks, but a little small
January 16, 2022This shirt is as thick and high quality as it looks. I’m very impressed. It’s the thickest shirt I have now and I have some of LLBean’s thickest flannels and this is still thicker. Very warm and the pockets are not as weird as I thought they would be. You can’t even notice them really when looking at it. The rust color is not bad, a little lighter than I would like from a red. Only problem is it runs a little small. Typically I can count on J Crew to have mediums with long sleeves but the sleeves on this are a little short.

Quality piece, perfect for fall through spring
January 2, 2022Chamois shirts are timeless American style and the J. Crew version is a staple in my wardrobe. The classic fit is excellent and true to size--not billowy like some other brands. The fabric is substantial. I bought a couple of colors but highly recommend the orange. The side pockets are a non-issue for me. I don't use them all the time, but they are nice when I do need them.

Check style carefully
December 30, 2021CAREFUL! The shirt is thick and warm and mostly as others have described — BUT it has these goofy waist pockets on both sides and a horizontal seam that runs across the shirt, making this much more an overshirt or light jacket than a regular shirt. These pockets are not mentioned in the description, and they are not depicted in the camel or orange color photos — only the green and blue ones — so I never saw this despite being fairly careful. I wouldn’t have bought it if a full description, either in words or photos, had been shown for the orange color I purchased. I’d send it back, unworn, but it was a final sale item, and I know it’s not the end of the world but I’m still feeling a little misled.

Very Nice
December 10, 2021Beautiful chamois fabric...looks and feels very legit, not at all like a cheap copy. Really good cut leaves room for layering without looking boxy in your normal size. Very good range of motion when reaching your arms forward. I am 6'2", wear a 42L blazer and the size large fits very good overall. I measured the pit-to-pit with the jacket perfectly flat and taut at 24 inches. Body length from base of collar to back hem at 29.5". Personally I would've liked another inch in body length, but it's acceptable. I don't normally wear much orange, but love the orange color here. The orange shade seems more muted in real life than on my screen, which is good. Looks like something pulled from grandpa's old hunting chest. The lower pockets at the side seams can feel a little unnatural at first (set too far back)...but I got used to it and it's a common design for any shacket, although you do see some with the pockets mounted more forward on the front of the garment.
