Pleased with Plaid
December 5, 2025The Madras shirt is not for everyone. Specifically, if you're the kind of person that doesn't like an occasional lighthearted lark, then take heed and steer clear! For everyone else, though, this shirt fits perfectly into just about any warm day outfit, whether it's buttoned up and tucked into a pair of olive linen trousers, peeking out from behind a classic navy blazer, or left open over a pair of swim trunks at the beach. I bought mine with exactly those scenarios in mind and I'm glad I did! The shirting is typical of J.Crew's quality and sizing. Consistently reliable in cut and construction. The color palette is vibrant and the mix of patterns is subtle enough that it draws people into a pleasant surprise once they notice that this isn't a typical plaid shirt, which makes for a really nice effect. This shirt is going to get a lot of wear next summer. See you at the beach!
