Wallace & Barnes heritage fleece painter's crewneck sweatshirt

As everyone mentioned this ran a bit tighter. As a previous reviewer said, it feels more like a slim fit. The bottom was roomy though. A previous reviewers pics of the less vibrant cobalt were spot on. This is more of a worn and faded-out navy. It looked worn and loved, but not used or old. The color was not a deep brilliant cobalt, as pictured. The splatter looks great on it. I don’t feel it looked as pictured either and I was glad about that. In person it didn’t seem to contrast as much. It looked to be a natural and organic splatter but artistic and consistent enough to be intentional. It wasn’t what I expected, but I do really like it.

Regarding the color and finish: the sweatshirt I received seemed to fare better than the earlier reviews. Mine has a slightly faded look with washed down paint splatters which give it an air of authenticity. (In my opinion, the sample in the website photos looks a little too perfect with too many crisp white paint splatters.) Fit: I wear a medium and this style runs true to size; however the fit is similar to a J Crew slim fit. If you run between sizes or prefer a classic fit, I recommend sizing up one size. Overall quality is excellent.

I was really excited when I ordered this sweatshirt on sale. Conceptually it looks great and it's supposedly better quality than Jcrew standard clothing as it's their W&B label. I think the quality of the garment is there but that's where it stops. The actual item is lighter in color than the photos. Next the splatter paint is not nearly as prevalent as in the website images. So much so that my item is clearly a different batch. I'm afraid when I wear it, people will think I spilled something on my sweatshirt. I expect that. The only reason I may keep it is I purchased it on sale. Also I am a medium in all Jcrew clothing. I purchased a large based on another review and I'm glad I did as it fits like a typical medium. Oh, one last thing; I have purchased thousands of dollars if Jcrew clothing but never a W&B piece and I was surprised this was made in China considering the price.

I waited a long time for this backordered item. When I received it I was disappointed in the look of it. The splattered-paint look to it, which was the reason why I bought it, was not as pictured. Instead of stark white paint splattered all over the sweatshirt, there are dark spots that look like when an item gets bleach on it; the speckled "paint" looks more like bleach stains. I was hoping to receive an item that looked like a sweatshirt that had paint splattered on it like shown in the photographs, so I was pretty disappointed. I also found the item to be smaller than a typical J.Crew XL sweatshirt. I know this is a different brand (Wallace & Barnes), but, I had hopes that maybe it would be a more generous fit. The fit is more like a large. The quality feels nice. I would still return it even if it fit perfectly mainly because I thought I was getting a sweatshirt with WHITE speckled paint all over it and NOT speckles that look like bleach stains.
