Collection halter slip dress in foulard print

I’m 5’9”, 185 lbs, and usually wear a size 8–10. After reading the last two reviews, I decided to size down to an 8 — definitely the right choice, as it fits like a glove. I have a bit of a pooch, but the cut and print of the dress are really flattering for my shape. My only small gripe is that I wish it were 1–2 inches longer, since it hits right at my ankles.

4/5 stars because the sizing is somewhat loose throughout. I suggest getting your normal J Crew size or size down. I usually wear 8 in dresses and tops. Sometimes 10. I wear 8 in pants. I first got the 10 in this, and it is slightly too big. 8 fits like a glove. The dress is cut on the bias which provides more stretch and a lovely drape. Beautiful silhouette and a real showstopper design. The fabric is the chefs kiss.

I saw this dress and I just had to have it. Sadly, it fails a bit in execution. The material and pattern are lovely, but the draping is off. The bias cut leads to some odd billowing off my chest in the stomach area, which gave the appearance of a tummy where I have none. Might be worth it when it is on sale, but it would have had to be better for $300+. For reference I am 5'9" 145 lbs. Measurements are 36/29/39.
