Collection scoopback mini dress in satin

Great if you have no shape! J Crew has been doing this thing where they create silhouettes for women with absolutely no curves. Maybe they have data that proves that’s their target demo but it’s frustrating because I loved this dress and it fit ok if I was just standing but any movement and it puckered because it wasn’t meant for my body. But my body is the body of most of the women I see in the real world. I’m not overweight, I work out and I HAVE HIPS.

Lovely dress but strangely the red color version ran one size smaller for me than the slate blue one. After reading reviews about this dress running small, I bought this dress in both colors in size 4 (which is one size up from my usual JC dress size). While the blue version fit well, the red version was a little tight in the back, with slight puckering of the material around the sides of the back zipper. Customer Service is always excellent and when I spoke with them, they agreed to send another size 4 in red and size 6 in both colors, so I could see what size truly fit best. Turns out, the originally ordered size 4 in blue still fit best but that I had to take a size 6 in red-so strange, since it’s the same dress but in different colors! For reference, I’m 5,4”, 107#, 36B and usually take a size 2 in JC dresses. I’m very happy with this dress-no alterations are needed for length or straps.

This is the perfect holiday dress. It’s so comfortable and flattering! Can’t wait to wear it next holiday season!

I bought this hoping to wear it to a wedding in September and I suppose if I lose 5lbs I can. But it definitely runs small!! I am between an 8 and an 10 nut sized up based on the reviews and it is still too small. It’s very tight in the mid section. And the color is not the blue you see in the pictures it’s more gray/silver than the eggshell blue I was hoping for. I wish I could exchange it for one size up but I bought it final sale.

After reading the reviews, I went 1 size up from my normal size 6 to an 8. Happy to report it fits like a glove! Can’t wait to wear it for valentines and christmases to come.

I loved this dress the moment I saw it. I checked the reviews & measurements & went up 1 size per everyone’s suggestions. I have an average build & the dress “fits” but I can barely sit down in it. (even wearing with Spanx, there’s no chance). I’m going to have to resell it or donate it because there’s no way I can wear it unless I’m standing the entire time.
