Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't wait for cold weather Look at the dates of the reviews before you decide based on them. I'm 5'8" 135 lbs ordered the size 6. I had to base my sizing on another coat style in the store but I just got mine and it fits perfectly. I wanted Black (not offered) but the Navy is pretty dark, almost passes for black. Most JCrew coats are too feminine or fitted, that is why I like this one, it's not. Modern styling, decent sleeve length for my long arms, side pockets big enough for hands. The zipper (warm gold not rose) was difficult to zip on the first try but it seems fine. Can't wait to wear it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glad I didn't just rely on the reviews. Awesome. I was lucky enough to get the heather turquoise on sale. I bought the regular size 12 (I'm 5'5") after chatting online with a very helpful customer service rep. who provided me with the actual dimensions. I wanted to avoid it being baggy on top and tight around the hips. It is a little bit larger on top, but when I raise my arms or rotate my shoulders back, there is a little tightness so I am not going to have it tailored. This is my first coat from J. Crew, and it won't be my last. The texture does have that military grade wool feel--it's not soft--but it isn't rough either. The color is a light, heathered Tiffany blue, and I just love it--so classy with the bright gold zipper and details. The zipper was a little difficult to work at first, but after a few tries, it is now fine. Everything was so carefully wrapped, including the zippers, I am sure it was just sticky from being stored. I have no doubt this coat will last indefinitely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from change up on the trench i had not seen this piece until it was on sale and took a chance on ordering it sight unseen. don't believe the other reviews, this is a great coat - different yet traditional - runs a bit larger than TTS, but no need to size down if you are wearing anything like a cardi plus underneath. the zipper gives it a little pop of contemporary flair but the overall coat fits in to the more classic trench feel. grab it in a neutral or a fun color (i went with the dijon color and love it) and liven up your outerwear. this is a fall to spring piece, if done with layers on cooler days. the only upgrade would be something other than the wool - am eyeing the wool/cashmere blend trench!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love this coat I ordered this coat in gray, the gold hardware make this coat pop. I love the length and belt....the belt is attached for safe keeping. Makeup wearers be cautious!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sleek cold-weather addition I bought this coat in size 6 Navy, which fits perfectly. As other reviewers have mentioned the zipper being rose-gold instead of gold as pictured, I must disagree and say that my navy coat most definitely has the gold accents like the photos. The red piping on the inside of this navy coat is absolutely stunning. This coat is heavy and incredibly warm even for this east coast winter, so it falls nothing short of the high-quality wool found in other J.Crew coats. When zipped up and belted, the style is rather straight and not as flared out as some might like it to be, but I love the look regardless as I think it looks more modern (less wind gets through too). The only gripe I have is with the zipper- it does get stuck at times, and with the asymmetrical style to this coat, it proves to be awkward having to lean over uncomfortably when the zipper doesn't go up smoothly. Overall though, I am in love. Sleek, stylish, and timeless.
