Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Shorts So happy to have finally found a pair of shorts that aren't too short and aren't too long. I only wish I found them sooner so I could have them in more colors!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I keep buying them... I bought 3 pair a few years back (7" inseams) and would still be wearing them, but lost a few pounds and they are too big now, so opted for a smaller size and slightly shorter length (I have gotten over the fact that I no longer have the legs I had when I was in my 20's/30's). I am typical pear shaped and although these shorts gap a little at the waist, they still hang nicely whether I belt or not. I usually have shorts either too tight in the legs or flare out in the legs, these are right in between. For reference, I am 5'5", 135 and I am wearing these in an 8, with still plenty of room for comfort. My only wish is that the 5" inseam style came in same colors as other inseams (black, bright green). Also, I ordered honey brown color, thinking it was the same as their khaki tan from the past and it isn't. Too brown to be the neutral staple that my old khaki shorts were. They went back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Summer staple I finally gave in and purchased a bunch of these shorts and I am not disappointed. When I Initially tried the shorts on, the were a little snug in the waist. I ordered my usual size. I was debating whether I should exchange them for a bigger size. I am glad I stuck with the originals that i ordered. These shorts stretch out a lot. However, the stretching has made them fit perfectly and I would have been sorry if I ordered the size up. I also have not put them in the dryer. The fabric is also nice and thick and doesn't sag with all the stretching out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome shorts! I have always been a fan of JCrew shorts. They are thicker than Factory shorts but still comfortable to wear during the summer in southern Alabama. The 5" inseam is a good length...not too short for a girl in her 30s but not too long either. Whenever these shorts go on sale, I try to snag a couple of pairs. Just wish they came in more colors!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best. Shorts. Ever. I'm 41, 5'2", 115 pounds. I originally purchased these shorts in the 4" inseam in a size 2 (my normal J.Crew size), knowing the 3" would be too short. While I'm petite, I tend to carry my weight in my hips, so I found the 4" to be too tight in the thigh for me. I reordered the shorts in the 5" inseam, and couldn't be happier! The length is flattering without being matronly, and the leg opening isn't too tight. I love the weight of the material and found shrinkage was minimal, if nonexistent, after washing in cold water and drying at a medium temperature. I can pull them out of the dryer and they look fantastic -- no need to iron! They loosen just a tiny bit when I wear them, but still fit perfectly. I have the storm grey and olive colors. Fantastic staples. While I purchased both pair with promo codes, I think the original price is fair for the quality and fit. These will be my go-to shorts for summers to come!
