Product Details

This version of the Ludlow blazer (first launched in 2008) is made of herringbone wool woven by England's Abraham Moon (considered one of the finest mills in the world). The jacket itself is partially unconstructed—in other words, it's made with a specially developed interior that offers some structure but, because of a soft shoulder, maintains a more laid-back look than traditional blazers (aka it's lighter and a bit more casual).

  • English wool/cotton.
  • Two-button closure.
  • Nonfunctional buttons at cuffs.
  • Pickstitching along collar, lapel and pockets.
  • Double vent.
  • Partially lined.
  • Dry clean.
  • Import.

Ludlow blazer in herringbone English tweed

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Terribly Tasty Tweed The quality of the fabric is fantastic. It's exactly as depicted in the photos. There are no visible flaws anywhere. The herringbone pattern on the grey version looks terrific. My only gripe is that it runs long. The bottom reaches my crotch, and the sleeves are a touch long as well. I've previously bought blazers from both J Crew and J Crew Factory, and this was never an issue, so I have to assume this is a problem unique to this product. The shoulders, chest, and waist fit really well. For reference, I normally wear a 38 regular, and that's what I went with here. 5'10" 150# 31" waist December 4, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice wool tweed sportcoat This sportcoat is well-made, with a classic charcoal tweed color. One caveat, however, is that the coat is noticeably longer than other Ludlow sportcoats in the same size. Also, as can be seen in the photos, it has outside patch-style side pockets rather than the inset side pockets of many other Ludlow-style sportcoats. I wish it had the regular inset pockets. Rated 3 out of 5 by Almost Perfect? This tweed blazer is perfect, but like the other reviewers pointed out, it is way too long. I am 5'11", 198lbs, athletic build. I bought the 44R, and everything about it--from the fabric to the cut--is superb...except that pesky length (it drapes down past my rear). I would say that if you are 6'1" or taller, you can buy the regular size and it will fit you perfectly. I can't imagine what a 44L looks like! Also, just a note about J.Crew sizing, I went to the local J.Crew store and tried on several different blazers in several different sizes; I would say that J.Crew is pretty spot on in terms of their sizing i.e. my chest measures a 43, so a 44 is the perfect fit for me, while a 42 is a bit snug. Most of the reviews on J.Crew about blazers tend to be pretty accurate, such as the Ludlow corduroy blazer. Everyone says it's a tight fit, particularly in the armpits, and when I tried it on in the store, it most certainly was. December 31, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by My First Tweed Sportcoat My first tweed sport coat. I was looking for something timeless for my wardrobe and I found it in this. Very nice quality. It still needed a tailor's touch but overall the fit is fairly accurate. September 28, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic stylish jacket! This is a fantastic jacket that's stylish while not being too formal. The herringbone pattern with tweed is a great combination. It goes well with dark navy jeans. I am typically a 40 long in other brands, and I bought this jacket in a 40 regular, and it fits me perfectly, so keep that in mind. December 14, 2015
