Rated 2 out of 5 by Instant Dad-bod Tired of your chiseled abs and broad shoulders attracting too much attention? Put this "Chairman Mao" fit jacket on and you'll instantly go from hot bod to dad-bod. A touchy zipper and extra long sleeves are the finishing touches on the look. The material was nice, not shiny, and a nice blue navy. Such a weird frumpy fit- we returned it. December 8, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Boxy and Bulky I really wanted to like this jacket. Unfortunately, it just doesn't fit like it looks in the photo. Despite being a bit tight in the armpits and arms (I ordered a size smaller than my usual fit), it is very bulky down the sides. To make matters worse, it's also very stiff which adds to its boxy and (in my opinion) unstylish look. I wish I didn't have to, but this one is going back to the store. September 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect, Stylish Jacket I am not exaggerating when I say this is a great jacket. I'm tall and lean (6 feet, about 150), and I got this in an XS, as JCrew clothes tend to run large for me. I expected the body to be fitted with the arms too short (as is typical for me when buying a coat). I was pleasantly surprised to find the coat to be an absolute perfect fit. It's fitted but not tight so I can still get wear a sweater and not feel uncomfortable. The arms are also not short, and don't ride up when I bend my arms. I do have long arms though, so if you're considering this coat, the arm length might be a little long for you. It's also surprisingly warm for a coat that isn't terribly thick, and I'm hopeful it'll keep me warm up until the coldest Chicago days in late Jan/early February when I might need something thicker. The best part? It's incredibly stylish without being flashy. If you're even considering buying this, just go for it! I'm extremely glad I did and am considering buying it in navy. September 15, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Just What I Wanted I have gotten so many compliments on this jacket, and it is very warm and very comfortable. Definitely worth the money on this. My only complaint is that the zipper feels quite cheap. October 24, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great late fall jacket The Sussex has been great. It's a perfect throw-on jacket for me as it starts to get cooler. I appreciate that J.Crew used Primaloft insulation because it gives me a better idea of how its warmth will compare to more technical jackets (bonus points for quantifying exactly what type of Primaloft and how many grams in the future), and because it will keep warmth even if I get pretty wet. The jacket fits well and seems to match J.Crew sizes pretty accurately. However, I tried on a different M and L in a store, and found those fit very differently than those I received in my mail order. I think the jacket could be improved by an internal chest pocket (there is an internal pocket but it is down low near your waist) and some method to tighten the sleeves around the wrists to trap in more warmth. A tighter button would work. November 14, 2015
