Rated 4 out of 5 by sariego Well made, breezy, runs a bit large
I think the fabric for this dress makes it run a bit on the large side but it is very pretty, very nice. i will wear it a lot this summer. It is well made. After I ironed it the fabric became more flattering because it flowed better.

Rated 2 out of 5 by csmith Boxy construction on the top
This dress has so much potential, but the top is all wrong. What you don't see in the photos is how awkward the neckline is. It's squared off and the straps are way off to the side... maybe this would work for broad- shouldered ladies? It was floppy and obviously didn't lay right at all. There was a lot of extra material and therefore, unflattering.
The bottom half of this dress was great and fit well for this pear-shaped gail. Alas, I had to return it because the top was so unflattering on me. Too bad!

Rated 4 out of 5 by LeeLee Nice - But not sure how it will wash
This dress is very flattering and seems well made, although the interior lining is a bit strange. It seems to flip up and you can see it under the linen exterior in certain light. It does run large but the elastic waist helps! I normally go between a size 4 and 6, I got the 4 and could maybe fit into a 2 but I will keep the 4, especially since now all sizes are out of stock! It needs to be ironed and I am curious to see how it will wash...

Rated 4 out of 5 by Nomad Breezy linen dress
I love the contrast of the mediterranean blue embroidery and crisp white linen. The cut is flattering for curvy figures. The top of the bodice can be worn gathered or straight, so the "squared off" shape another reviewer mentioned can be adjusted. The only design feature I wish were different is that the shoulder straps are not adjustable, which is an odd choice given that this design could have so easily accommodated that. I'm petite and may need to shorten the shoulder straps a bit, but this is an easy fix. Excellent value on sale.

Rated 5 out of 5 by lxunyc Roomier Across Bust, But Don't Size Up Yet
This turns out to be my favorite JCrew dress from this summer.
JCrew dress Size 00 usually offers me the best overall fit, albeit some are a bit snug across the chest. Because this one is cut a bit fuller across the bust area, it fits me really well. (The extra room around the waist is extremely easy to remedy.)
My favorite feature is the neckline. It's quite unique among all the other spaghetti-strap dresses - summery yet demure, and shows off the elegance of neck in an updo - when the straps lay flat against the shoulders.
To this end, IMHO, you want enough room across the chest so the bodice "hangs" on you. At least this trick worked for me - the Size 000 is very snug across the chest so the straps indeed look awkward, but the 00 worked like a charm - and I'm not particularly broad-shouldered (which measures 14.5in across on a 34-23-35 frame).
Hope this helps.
