Colorblock striped skirt

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 11 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Cool design, but runs a bit small I love the sporty design, and the craftsmanship was excellent, with the stripes in the different color blocks lining up as they should. The staid navy needs the jolt of aqua to update nautical stripes. I ordered this skirt to try on at home. I generally wear a small or size 4 or 6, depending on the item. I have other J. Crew skirts in size 4 that fit me well, and my measurements best line up with size 4, but this size is definitely too small in this skirt. Even if the design is supposed to have a higher waist than my other skirts, it still seemed to fit small. So, I would recommend going up a size. Also, I felt that the fabric was a bit stiff and I didn't like the way the skirt draped, at least for the too-small size 4. The twill is a stiff fabric, so I was expecting a more structured fit, but I wanted the fabric to hang more loosely than it did. Probably this was also a result of the too-small skirt sitting high on my hips. I look forward to trying a larger size soon. February 27, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by great print, high waist the color blocking with the stripes is really cute and flattering, and so is the a-line cut. It's nice to see a knee length skirt that isn't a pencil skirt. I agree with other reviewers that it runs a bit small, the waist is high and tight. I can't decide if I should size up, to get the waistline lower. I'm tall, and it hits just at/above the knee. I like that it's 100 percent cotton; the material is stiff, not soft, but that works with the sharp cut of the skirt. March 5, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Strange fit - Size up I actually never intended to purchase this skirt for myself. I received it as a gift and was pleasantly surprised. PROS: The fabric is actually quite nice. It is nice weight and the contrasting color/stripes make this a little out of the ordinary. Cute nautical feel. CONS: The sizing is a little off. Definitely size up. I normally wear a 6 in J.Crew pencil skirts and a 6 or 8 in pants, and I definitely needed an 8 in this one. The fabric does not stretch at all, so that may be why the sizing issue. I have noticed this trend this year in other J.Crew skirts described as "a-line", though. Overall, happy with this purchase! March 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Grade A This A-line skirt has just the right about of flair and is a nice change from a pencil skirt. It is TTS and sits high on the waist. The vertical darts at the waist, subtle flair of the skirt, and contrasting colors that begin just below one's rear-end make this a wonderfully flattering skirt. Because the skirt sits high on the waist I needed a little more length so I requested the skirt be lengthened to cover most of my knees. There is about a two-inch hem. For reference, I am 5'8", 130lb, and purchased a size 2. March 25, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by big smile when I put this on I loved the photos of the skirt, and it's even better in real life. It's very well made, with a beautiful firm, lustrous fabric. It's a playful twist on a sort-of-classic. The length was shorter in the smaller size. I'd say it runs true to size; my smaller J.crew skirt and pant size was snug but not tight. March 3, 2016
