Maddie pant in bi-stretch wool

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 101 reviewers.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Wool Jeggings The good news: This Maddie pant has a fit consistent with other JCrew styles. The purple color is stunning. The bad news: The fabric is so stretchy and lightweight that it does not drape. It creases, clings to the skin, and is itchy. It felt practically like wearing track pants (if they were made of wool and had a zipper and pockets). I don't know what it will take for JCrew to line their wool dress pants for women. Even a partial lining would be a major improvement. The fabric is also a magnet for lint because of the rough texture. Additionally, the fit was odd. Baggy around the hips with a dramatic taper in the thighs. I'm exaggerating a bit, but the effect was kind of like jodhpurs. They went straight back. September 7, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Please line these pants!!! The style of these pants is just perfect. There's a seam that runs down the front of the pants that really makes them interesting. The fit is spot on, there's lots of colors to choose from. So what's wrong? THEY'RE OFF THE CHARTS SCRATCHY!!!! Please line these pants. They're made of wool!! I would buy them in every color if it wasn't for the fact that I want to itch every inch of my legs when I have them on. Major miss on these, J.Crew. October 31, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Beautiful, but not for everyone These pants are exactly the right tight-in-the-rear-loose-through-the-leg pants that I've been looking for. They taper in slightly at the ankle, giving a lengthening look, and pair well with flats or heels. I like to think of them as an "office-appropriate minnie." My only reservation is the rise--as another reviewer commented, these sit higher than other J.Crew pants. I am usually between pant sizes with J.Crew but I sized down for these since they are stretch wool. On the outside, they look perfect (no unsightly camel toe), but I can feel that the rise is a little short. Not enough to be uncomfortable, but enough that I'm aware of it. I'm concerned that if I size up, they won't be as flattering through the rear. Still debating whether to return these or not--but leaning towards keeping them since they look so good and are not uncomfortable. September 2, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by a good fall pant A nice style but would be more flattering if it were a slightly lower rise. Also, the fabric is a little itchy but wearable. J.crew used to make a high quality pant that was lined and stitched well. I wish they would go back to that. September 16, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by A bit too tight These fit a little tighter than me than on the model (disclaimer, I have athletic legs so it was tighter around the thighs). These fit more like straight/skinny jeans on me and I could probably wear these into the office on business casual days, but wouldn't feel comfortable wearing them in my conservative business professional dress code office. Returned the pant since I didn't think I'd get much wear out of them. August 29, 2014
