A J Crew girl through and through. For years I have bought the leather capri sandals in soft gold. They are my absolute favorite summer sandal.
After seeing that J Crew had stopped carrying them, I purchased these in hopes they would make a good replacement.
Sadly, they're just not for me, despite still being decent quality.
The straps are a bit too wide, and don't give the more feminine feel the Capri sandals had. The gold is also much to brassy for my taste. They are headed back.
Please bring back the leather capri sandals! :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by HalfPint Rio Sandals Compared to Previous Capri Sandal
I purchased several pairs of the Rio sandals this season to replace a few pairs of 3-5 year old Capri style leather flip flops purchased from J.Crew. I love quality of your flip flops, they are my everyday go-to in Arizona! My only issue is that I am a size 6 in your old leather flip flops and had to order a size 7 in the new ones as they are just a bit wider and shorter than the previous style. Not a big deal, but perhaps something to note on your site to avoid exchanges.

Rated 5 out of 5 by tabasco9 best flip-flops ever
These flip-flops are the best I've ever purchased. Good, quality materials and construction. I bought a similar pair 3 years ago at J.Crew, and I still have them. I purchased these in all the colors they come in this season! I did find them to run a bit short; I ordered my usual size 8 but exchanged for a size 9.

I wore these shoes for a couple hours around D.C. and they completely tore up my feet. They gave me bad cuts on my second toes, and rubbed the sides of my feet until they bled. I returned these shoes the next day because I couldn't even put them back on my feet. The skinny strap sandals J.Crew used to make were way better-- bring them back!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jules Miss the old style of leather sandal!
I used to buy the same leather flip flop every year from J Crew. I would typically buy the silver metallic and one year they even made a crackle gold that was beautiful. They had very thin straps with a thin leather bottom. The last few years they started to change them-switched the sole out for a hard plastic (horribly uncomfortable and never broke in), made the straps wider (painful between the toes with rough edges), and now this year, they came out with this version. It is a pretty shoe but this version now has all of the newer, undesirable details J Crew has been adding to try to improve upon their old flip flop. They fit fine and are pretty from a distance. However, looks closely and they have a cheap, hard plastic bottom and thick straps that look clunky. So many customers ( and the ladies who work at my J Crew retail store!) want the old version back! Why change a great thing that came in a classic summer style in a quality, NATURAL material?
