Let's be honest. J.Crewbies buy one or two linen jackets every year like collectors and they are worthy of it. I don't believe the quality or styling has faultered, however, the sizing is getting very small, especially in the shoulders. I had to order up 2 sizes from my regular jacket size and even then I returned it. If you are slim or straight this years model may fit you well and fit is 90% of why something looks good (or not).

I was excited to find a linen blazer in tall, and was convinced by other reviews that it was just what I was looking for. Instead, I found that the tall size meant that the arms were long but the body still short (the back hem fell awkwardly at the top of my jeans pockets). I also found the shoulders a bit round and poofy. As others have mentioned, the sleeves are lined in cotton, which makes it uncomfortable to wear over long sleeves. Finally, the popped collar is cute but not timeless - I would love to see an unlined linen blazer with a normal collar and a little extra length in the body.
The quality was nice overall. I purchased the navy and it was very handsome. I was sorry to send it back.

Wore this blazer to work with a black dress and then later to dinner with jeans. This is a more structured linen piece and didn't seem to wrinkle up like other linen items.

I purchased the royal blue (tidewater) and teal (autumn bluegrass)and love both. The fit, style and comfort are incredible. The navy lining exposed when the cuffs are turned back adds a casual class. The collar can be worn up or down. I've done both and have been complimented repeatedly.

this blazer took me by surprise. I tried the wool regent and the arms were too tight while body too wide. I took a chance on the linen because it was on sale. the arms and body are much more proportionate . I like that it is cotton lining because it is cooler for the hot humid weather but I understand others concerns about having a tough time getting it on and off. I am only wearing it with sleeveless tops. the black linen is very sleek and sophisticated looking. it is weird that the lining is dark blue, but I guess its ok. overall I really like it and should get a lot of wear out of it, even when it cools down.
