I bought the predecessor of this shirt last year, in multiple colours and loved them. That being said, these new ones are terrible and not worth a second look. The cut is roughly 1-2 inches shorter in length, and the definition of boxy. If your upper body shape can be described as "sponge bob square pants" than congrats this cut will look like a nice relaxed tee. However, if you are part of the rest of the population, this shirt will appear short, and obnoxiously shapeless. Jcrew has successfully ruined a perfectly good shirt, so save your money and look elsewhere. I have never had to return an item in years of shopping from Jcrew, but these are going straight back.

I created an account so that I could review this shirt, because purchasing shirts from J. Crew this season has been beyond frustrating, due to sizing issues. I had purchased the striped boatneck 3/4 sleeve T in medium, after reading many reviews, & it fit beautifully. After reading many reviews, I then bought the indigo vintage cotton v-neck T in medium, & it was HUGE. Sadly, I sent it back. I tried again with this relaxed linen T (thinking the heathered blue might be similar enough to the indigo). Again, I got the medium, because all the reviews said the shirt ran TTS or perhaps even a bit small. I am giving it 2 stars because I was happily surprised by the quality - the colors (I also got black) were vibrant, & the material substantial (not see-through). However, again, they were incredibly large, even for "relaxed." Why can't sizes be standardized? Without free returns, buying from J. Crew has become too much of a gamble. For reference, I'm 5'6", 130, 34C.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anne Crazy about this Linen T!!!
You cannot beat linen when it comes to drape and breathability and this relaxed linen T does not disappoint! The relaxed fit is flattering because of the soft drapey quality of the linen and the neckline is the perfect cut to show off my favorite "statement" necklace. I pair mine with a J Crew silk or suiting cami during cooler, spring weather and wear without for those hot summer days. These T's tuck easily into my low rise jeans, and still look great untucked for those days I feel less than skinny, For me, linen is definitely the new cotton and this relaxed linen T is quickly becoming my go to favorite!

This is another example of an odd weave pattern. I didn't expect it in a linen tee since you see it more in a slub tee. The weave is slightly diagonal across the shirt and this makes your breasts look uneven and wonky. I suspect it's worse if you have a large chest like myself (36D). The black looks fine because the weave is lost in the color. The weave pattern really stands out on the white and light gray I bought, however. Also the white is very see through. I am keeping the black since the linen is nice against your skin, but the other two are going back sadly.

I loved the fabric, but I didn't like the fit. It was way too boxy and boyish looking. I was looking for a bit more fitted shirt and luckily, I ordered the "Vintage Cotton T-Shirt" as well and it worked out better for me.
