Rated 1 out of 5 by TexasRunner USA vs CHINA vs MEXICO QUALITY
48 yr old runner. 5’7” 123 lbs. Size 26R and 27R. I’m pretty fit. Have over a dozen of these jeans, from pre-2009 to present. Get lots of compliments on fit/style.
Thin, weak fabric. Frays easily, tears within a few months. Loses color in odd patterns all over jeans. Color transfers to tan leather car seats and to fingernails. I had on a pair tonight and bent my knee to sit down and split right across top of knee. The pairs that I have from 2009 are way better quality than the ones that came January 2014.
I just compared labels in all of my JCrew Bootcut jeans and ALL of the good pairs were MADE IN THE USA. The BAD ones say MADE IN MEXICO. A couple of my white pairs are MADE IN CHINA. How about bringing production back to the GOOD OLE USA??? BRING BACK THE QUALITY OR LOSE ME AS A CUSTOMER!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Sill Great look, but very poor quality
I used to love J.Crew bootcut jeans! I bought about 3 pairs of these since they look and fit great at first wear. One by one, each ripped badly at the bottom!! What is with their quality? It is awful and such a shame because finding slightly bootcut jeans that are more slim is hard. Just please redo the fabric or weight! Anything to keep them from ripping so badly since the styling is really wonderful. So disappointed.

While I love the style and cut of this jean, the fabric feels rather flimsy and thin. Since it's a dark rinse wash, the fabric also heavily bleeds jean dye on your legs and light streaks from dye movement shows across your lower torso and leg socket area. JCrew jeans used to have a little bit more weight and construction to them but now since the really skinny jeans are the style, all their jeans now seem to be featherweight. Would "love" instead of "like" this jean if the quality were a tad bit better.

The quality of the material used has definitely changed. Not the same as two years ago! Thin and wears out much faster, bottoms are frayed in no time. I cut them off and made my own knee length pants! Lots of questions as to where I bought them.

I love the fit, color and wash of the boot cut jean but they do not last. I bought two pairs about a year ago in the store and they both wore out in about 6 months, wearing a hole through where my pocket book rubbed on the front side of the right thigh and wearing holes through where my legs rub together when I walk. I bought a third pair on line as they are no longer offered in the stores, and they wore through between the legs in about 6 wearings! I brought them into the store and they replaced them but really J. Crew, find a fabric that will last.
