I bought a couple of pairs in red on sale last season so when I saw them in black now I had to have them. Paying the full price was tough but they are handmade in Italy. Adorable, comfortable and versatile. From walking the dogs every day, to walking the cobblestone streets of Prague and Salzburg on our trip to Europe recently. To make them last longer I had the leather soles reinforced as they are quite thin. For those of us with wider feet these are perfect ballerinas.

These looked sweet in the box, but not so sweet on my feet. I was disappointed that they weren't like the usual Porsellis...the kind you break in the left and right, and with a functional drawstring. They are well made, lovely leather, but very wide. My feet looked more block shaped...not delicate and precious as one wants with ballerinas. I am glad JCrew partnered with Porselli...they have great ballerinas, but these were a miss.

The leather on these flats in amazingly soft! I was very impressed. They fit true to length but are a little wide. Luckily, the bow can be undone and pulled so that the shoe fits better. And after a few hours of wearing, the shoes seem to mold to my feet. These are very light ballerinas and make feel like I should skip and twirl when wearing them! No toe cleavage, but still low cut enough to be cute. Very comfortable, no breaking in required. The only concern I have with them is that the leather soles are thin so I think they might need to be resoled at some point.

I have wanted these flats for a long time and when a pair of red ones in my size appeared on the sale page, I took the plunge and ordered them. From the moment they arrived, I have hardly ever had them off my feet. People stop me all the time to tell me how they love my shoes. They are unbelievably comfortable and at the same time, provide amazing support, which you would never think possible, given the thin sole. However, the leather quality of the sole and upper is far superior to any designer ballet flat (and I own many from all the top designers). You can understand why Porselli is the go to name for ballet shoes. These aren't ballet shoes but you will be dancing in them nonetheless. I have worn these walking city streets and country lanes and they are far better for my feet than any running shoe. Yes, they are a bit wide in the toe box, but that is exactly what I need- shouldn't be a deal breaker for anyone. Just ordered the citron colored pair. One of JCrew's best collaborations.
