Rated 2 out of 5 by MommyStyle Beautiful coat...from far away.
I purchased this coat in September and started using it late October, early November. While the styling and fit of the coat are perfectly beautiful, the material is horrible. It collects every bit of lint, hair, etc. requiring me to lint roll it mulitple times a day. Additionally, the material pills on the underside of the arms. I have dry cleaned it numerous times and it still looks awful. And buttons are starting to fall off.
It looks like my winter coats from 4 years ago that I bought this coat to replace. Not at all what I expect for a coat from JCrew at this price point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ayayaya Great trench, not sure about 'wool-cashmere'
Last year, I was unable to buy this because they were all gone when I noticed. So as soon as I saw this trench this year, I had to buy it. The coat is stylish, very nice cut, it's perfect. I am so happy about my purchase and I am thinking of buying another color.
My only complaint is that Cashmere is only 8% and I personally think 8% cashmere is almost same as nothing. I don't think you should even name the trench as 'wool-cashmere' if only 8%. I do not feel any cashmere or softness in the fabric. The fabric is rather harder and a tiny tiny bit itchy but I do not wear over bare skin so this is not a big issue. Imo, it is ok just Wool and some other material, it doesn't have to be Cashmere everything.
Having said that, again, I am truly happy about this coat. Please don't take my review as a negative one because it is not. The coat is so good looking, well made, awesome awesome coat that makes you look cool very stylish. I will wear this for years to come.

Rated 1 out of 5 by catscratch only 3% cashmere
I bought this coat in two sizes in what I thought was a beautiful harbor blue. When the coat arrived, I was quickly disappointed in the color. It's much darker than in the picture, more of dark turquoise (see jersey lomellina swim). If that weren't disappointing enough, I checked the label and the coat is 73% wool, 24% nylon!!! and just 3% cashmere. It feels like a cheap felt from a craft store. The coat fit well, although a bit tight in the arms. The larger size did fit me better, however, both coats are going back. At this price point, I'd expect a heftier amount of cashmere, and no nylon. The coat is also lighter weight than I anticipated. This coat is nothing like a stadium cloth trench it was supposed to replace. Disappointing, j. crew.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Lizzz Classic style, wish quality were higher
I was on the fence about keeping this coat, which I have admired for a couple of years, but as it's now sold out in navy and is a classic style, I'm going to keep it. As another reviewer mentioned, the cashmere is negligible so they might as well eliminate it completely. The coat does not feel that thick or warm to me, which is disappointing. I got my usual 2 which fit fine everywhere and was almost a little larger than I wanted in the body (but I like a very close fit). The belt is super long and does not work well if you buckle it, but if you tie it in a knot at the waist it works. I can recommend it as a medium weight classic coat but only if you get it on sale.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Emily Great fit, but fabric looks bad after a while
I have this coat in both grey and salmon. I wore the grey one daily each winter season for 2 years, so the coat got regular use. The fit is fantastic and very flattering. However, with use, the fabric looks awful. It attracts every piece of hair and lint, so much so that I had friends picking hair and lint off of me when we'd be out and about!!! Not to be gross, but if you have long hair, you will constantly be pulling wads of shed hair from under the armpits where it sticks like glue to the fabric. The underside of the arms have also started to pill from rubbing against the coat during normal daily moving. The coat looks shabby after just 2 years of use. I expected more for the price. The salmon coat still looks OK, but that's because I only wear it during special occasions given the bold color. It's not my daily use coat. So... if you want a special occasions coat and don't mind lint rolling all the time, get it. If you want daily wear.............look elsewhere! Or wait for a sale.
