Rated 1 out of 5 by Once again...poor quality compared to prior years Wow...I bought the black, brown and gray boot cut cords three years ago and they still look great. This year, the corduroy is super thin and cheap feeling. And, the black is very washed out - looking almost gray. Plus the cut is off. Judging by these cords, and the absolutely sad "cashmere" (that feel like merino wool) sweaters, it seems like J.Crew is going way down hill in quality. Sad. Would not recommend. October 11, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Price goes up...quality goes down I have to agree with the reviewer who mentioned how great their cords used to be vs. now. There has definitely been a decline in the quality...they're now super thin and they just don't fit the same way. They also seem to run slightly smaller than they used to...and the color selection is simply depressing compared to even just a couple of fall seasons ago. Meanwhile, JCrew seems to feel justified in charging people more for this sad decline. Don't buy these unless 1) you can't find what you want for less anywhere else and 2) they're on sale - at least 30% off. Sorry JCrew, you used to be one of my go-to's, but the love is kind of gone now. October 19, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Fit? Not Quite:( l love cords. I truly wanted to like these cords but there are a couple of issues that have not made it so. Firstly the description of the cord fabric as "Cotton with a hint of stretch" is not the case at all. I originally purchased the Andie Cord, which has the exact same description (better color choices but the fit was quite disproportionate to my body...I am 5ft 7in and size 6/8). The Andie felt like I was wearing lovely soft velvet and moved so well with my body because of the stretch. Since the description was the same I expected this cord to have the same fabric but, unfortunately, it feels quite abrasive and without any stretch. Secondly it does not fit well in the crotch area so I find that my stride is actually a bit restricted as I walk because the crotch is a bit lower and again the fabric does not stretch. I truly hope that JCrew will look into their quality control because something seems amiss with the quality of some their fabrics and make. October 22, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by not stretchy at all Very disappointed. I used to buy jcrew boot cords that lasted for years. Now, this cut is really tight, way too small and the fabric does NOT stretch at all. I feel like I am going to tear my pants when I am sitting down. November 7, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Nice color but way too thin I received these as an early Christmas gift and was very excited. It fits well although the fabric does not feel that it has any stretch at all. Fabric is thin compared to my older corduroy pants from J. Crew. I had the privilege to buy J. Crew since 1996 and continue to fill my wardrobe with their garments. I have purchased the J.Crew corduroy 5 pocket vintage trousers since 2006. I own 6 pairs of them from Holiday 2007. They were one of the best courduroy pants in the market. The corduroy fabric is of superb quality, substantial, wears and washes extremely well, and I still have them until this day. I want more colors of them and that was why these were priority on my Christmas wish list. J. Crew please, please, pretty please bring back the old corduroy pants you have. I will buy them over and over again just like I used to. December 14, 2014
