The waist was super large while the legs were almost too tight, all the while the waist lacks loops for a belt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kramer Perfect weight linen
Just received the pants and jacket and love both. True to size if you're built muscular and slim hipped. I don't have much of a waist or hips and am a runner. Fit perfect. Buying the white pair because I love the navy so much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TVGal Great Basic Linen Go-To Crop Pants!!!
I ordered the navy blue in my normal size (0), and then began to worry that I should have ordered a 2, since linen pants will be ruined if you wear them too tight. (If linen clothes are too tight, the seams will start to separate & shred the fabric due to the loose weave nature of linen. It's happened to me!)
J.Crew designer must have taken this factor into account, as they are just barely looser than some of my other "fitted" or "slightly skinny" pants. They fit perfectly and feel great. I'd even say VERY CHIC!
For your own comparison, here's my sizing:
Long, thin frame.
I normally wear a size 0, 0T in J.Crew pants, which gives me a very tailored look. If I need a baggier, roomier fit (especially in summer, casual pants), I order the size 2.
Hope that helps other J.Crew fans!

With a high waist and no back pockets, these fit me like "mom pants." Though the linen is lovely, and I really liked the matching cutaway jacket, these are simply not flattering and must go back, immediately!

Rated 3 out of 5 by scooter true sizing?
The white linen pants look smart, well styled, comfortable and the sizing made me happy as reordered in a smaller size to get a fit. While this is good for my ego, not so sure that is true sizing but not complaining. They look good with silver accessoriies for a dressy look and also great with tan sandals and t shirt for casual. They are also good re transparency which is not a problem.
