A long and lean skirt made from a stretch wool we found at Lanificio di Tollegno (est. 1862, it's one of Italy's oldest mills). Polished and refined, the fabric is a standout for its flattering close cut and ease of wearability (i.e., you can wear it year-round, with just about everything).

Pencil skirt in Italian stretch wool

Rated 4 out of 5 by Classic Skirt This is a flattering g skirt . The material is smooth and does not wrinkle . I think it is quite slimming if you find your correct size. I first ordered size 8 ( my usual size) but it was too big. A size 6 fits perfectly. I am 5'3" 135 lbs. I think you'll love it -I do! July 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Basic! This is a perfect, simple black pencil skirt. The fabric is very nice, doesn't wrinkle and is an unlined stretch wool. This is perfect if you are looking for a lightweight black pencil skirt. I am about 5'3" and the skirt hits just above the knee - I would prefer it to be slightly longer, but it is fine. Fits true to size with other J Crew items. I typically buy Theory separates and the fabric is as nice, yet half the price. September 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Elegant and Well Designed This is a beautiful skirt. The fabric is divine. The fit is great. I usually wear a 12 adn took a 10. It runs a touch large. I have nothing but good things to say about this skirt. I may buy a second. October 16, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by fabric changed? I am confused by the other positive reviews here but perhaps Jcrew altered the fabric recently? This skirt is thin and hardly seasonless. The fabric looks and feels inferior. It wrinkles and attracts lint and does not lay nicely or look sleek. Although it is lined, it looks like a man made material. Unlike the #2 pencil skirt (which I adore) this style is snug around the hips and roomy on the waist for me. January 7, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by This WAS my favorite skirt This was my go-to skirt suit. It is an easy to wear material and lightweight, so it is great for the summer as well as year-round. Also nice that it does not attract lint. Unfortunately, if you plan on giving this skirt some love, plan on having to buy it over and over again or kiss it goodbye before you are ready. The stitching at the top of the back slit gives until it starts to pull at the fabric; soon the skirt starts to look like part of a cheap suit, as the fabric begins to tear. This happened despite the fact the skirt fit well (not too tight). My skirt underwent three professional repairs, but to no avail; one or two wears after each repair and I was back to square one. I was certain this was a problem unique to the stretch fabric, until I purchased this skirt in Super 120s and ran into the same problem after only 5 to 6 wears. At least I got a year's worth of wear out of this one. June 4, 2015
