Rated 4 out of 5 by Arms too tight Beautiful cardigan. Distressed Quartz, great neutral. Not too long, not too short. The v-neck works nicely with shirts and crew necks. The body is fitted, my normal size Small seems too small, I may change to Medium. For reference, I normally wear Size 2 or Small or P4. Buttons are nice, although in both that I ordered the button holes are too small. Have to carefully open the holes a little. The fabric in the Distressed Quartz is quite dense, not lightweight at all, this is an autumn to winter cardigan. The merino wool is not as soft as the Tippi crewneck, but it is still soft enough. The only problem I have is the sleeves are too tight, which makes it a little uncomfortable when you're layering over a shirt, or another long-sleeve top. Hope the Medium solves this problem. Rated 5 out of 5 by perfect for any occasion I purchased this in the Vintage Cabernet shade. I usually wear a size Small in J. Crew sweaters, and this size worked perfectly in this item as well. It's fitted without being tight. The color is rich and deep, and I like that the buttons aren't tiny. It's soft and not scratchy, and the sleeves are long but can easily be folded or scrunched up. This will layer nicely and work as a transitional top layer, while also fitting nicely under coats in the winter months. Highly recommended. August 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A great wardrobe classic I love J. Crew cardigans for their versatility and quality. This is no exception. Made of soft, itch-free merino in many eye-catching shades, this sweater is an ideal weight for fall weather, not too heavy and not too light. It drapes well, with an attractive fit. I love pieces like this for business travel, that pack well, resist wrinkling, and can be worn as a layering piece for stylish warmth on an airplane or in aggressively air-conditioned office buildings. Because this is a cardigan to wear in the office or to wear while relaxing with friends on the weekend, I will get a lot of use out of this piece. Sizing seems inconsistent - I notice some reviewers thought it was a little large, others small. Typically an S in J. Crew sweaters, I needed a medium in this cardigan. The shoulders, bust, and sleeves were tight in the small. The medium, however, fits perfectly and flatters. This is a well-made garment; for example, buttons are securely sewn. September 3, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Exactly what I was looking for... So happy JCrew brought back the regular length cardigan (the long version is NOT flattering on me at all)! I ordered in the green and, unlike some of the other reviewers, actually found it a little baggier than I expected. I am trying to decide if I want to switch to the XS. The arms on the S were not fitted on me and neither was the body, really. Strange that we would feel so different - especially given it sounds like one of the other reviewers normally wears a smaller size and found the S too tight. I am normally a S in Jcrew merino sweaters (and a size 4-6 in most tops) and this felt larger than my other sweaters, but I do tend to like my cardigans a bit more fitted - which is why I rated this as probably true to size for most people. Once I figure out the right size for me, I plan on buying this in several more colours! August 15, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice wardrobe staple, inconsistent sizing I'm very happy with the design and weight of the merino wool used for this cardigan, and it's a great length for me. I ordered two of the cardigans in size S, and found there to be a size discrepancy between the Cabernet and Deep Forest. I'm mostly a size S/4 at J.Crew, and the Cabernet was more fitted in both the chest and arms than the Deep Forest, with at least two inches more of arm length in the Deep Forest. The Cabernet would work if I was intending on wearing it only over dresses or tanks, so I decided to return that one and keep the sligthly larger Forest one so I can layer. I may pick up this cardigan in additional colors, but will try to get them in store where I can try a few on to get the right fit. September 11, 2014
