Collection cashmere cardigan sweater

Collection cashmere cardigan sweater is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 65.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classic style in beautiful colors and fabric I ordered this looking for a classic cashmere cardigan to wear to work over shirts. After reading the reviews, I went up a size: I wear 0 or 00 in J. Crew button-down shirts, but I ordered the Small so the sleeves would fit, and am very glad I did. I wouldn't have wanted to go any smaller. This is very well cut: a perfect length for my body (I'm 5'6) hitting at the top of the hips, and without any pulling at the top of the hips, which is a problem for me in other cardigans (I wear a size 4 in skirts). The sleeves are a little too long for me, but I turn the cuffs back which looks fine. The regal blue is gorgeous, and the cashmere is very soft and thick enough not to be fragile. This is such a useful sweater I confidently ordered a second in deep brown on final sale, which is also beautiful. I even got a compliment on the buttons... Only complaint: one button arrived loose on its shank, but this is easily fixed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from All of the buttons break and fall off I have been a long time J. Crew customer. This is my third purchase of this sweater over many years. The other two held up great, were just gotten to by moths. This one however is really poorly made. The fabric is thinner, the workmanship sloppy. All of the buttons broke and most came off. Unable to find the right size/style button, I contacted J.Crew. They were nice, seemed to try to help. But they sent me a set up buttons for the Jackie sweater, not as nice looking, and worse, smaller: useless. I was unable to wear this sweater most of the winter, and will now be on the hunt for buttons so maybe I can wear it again. I will not buy another sweater like this from Crew. Quality overall just keeps going down and they are losing me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Exactly two wearings before a thread broke in the sleeve - not caught on anything or otherwise stressed - leaving a hole that makes the sweater unwearable. It's a beautiful sweater, beautiful blue, but not the quality I was used to. I have been buying jcrew cashmere for twenty years and have dozens of cashmere and merino sweaters (not counting everything from skirts to dresses to jeans), I even got married in a jcrew dress, and am really upset over the decreased quality with increased pricing. I hope they get things back together soon.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not quite the same unfortunately I bought this sweater in Roasted Acorn. Beautiful color in person. The color selection continues to be the best. However, the sizing and quality is disappointing this year. I have always purchased an XS in the Collection cashmere cardigan. This year the XS was too tight. Compared to my other JCrew cardigans from previous years, the sweater is not as soft or as thick either. Seems like a blend. Because I loved this color, I ordered the Small and have a sweater that is a bit big, but doable. Based on other reviews this year, it sounds like the sizing may be very inconsistent in addition to quality issues. I like to buy a new color every year, but if they are cutting corners on quality I will not be so tempted.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from what happened? I have multiple cardigans from previous seasons and LOVE them… got this one in and, as other reviewers have mentioned, it is itchy. The color is stunning but the sizing is off, and this season's small is running much smaller than my other size smalls. Not sure if I will be keeping it. But the color really is lovely.
