I really liked the idea of this top; so cool and effortless as well as classy. However, I feel it is made for those lovely ladies who have an A-cup chest, possibly a B-cup. I am on the petite side with a 30-D chest, I tried on a size 0. It was a perfect fit everywhere else except the chest area. The blouse kept coming apart and my chest area was indecently exposed! I thought of several modifications: I could sew a button on the chest area but I feel that the button would probably put pressure on the delicate silk material, tearing it eventually. I could wear a camisole (not that I really like bulky layers) but the waist on this top is fitted (part of the style and attraction) and there is no room to wear anything underneath that would not look silly. I did think that I would have problems with this top but because I love that eggplant color I ordered it to try on.
Note to J.Crew design team: please reproduce this color in another more wearable, practical top, pants or skirt. Thank you.

I loved the concept of this blouse and honestly bought it for the purple color as I rarely see that color around these days. Unfortunately the blouse is entirely indecent. They are two separate panels of fabric that if I stood straight with my shoulders down and back, completely exposed my chest down to my navel. There is absolutely nothing holding this shirt together and if you love it, you would have to wear it with a tank top. I will be returning.

Rated 1 out of 5 by WWSB Does not drape well (contrary to description)
The eggplant is beautiful and I thought this would be the perfect draped blouse, but the drape is very low and there is no snap or hook to hold the two sides together. Besides, the placket inside of the blouse at the drape is not sewn down, so with every move (even when just trying it on), the placket showed itself and I had to keep tucking it in. This does NOT drape perfectly as the description states.

This looks so lovely and classic on the model, but not so on me. On me, this top looked like a shapeless sack. For reference, I'm 5'4" and 130 lbs, and sometimes take a petite in tops. I ordered an XS, which is my usual size. Perhaps on taller ladies, this would drape nicely, but for me, there was a lot of extra fabric, causing an unflattering puffy silhouette and, using the word of a previous reviewer, an indecent gap in the front. A camisole would be necessary for most wearers, I would imagine, unless you want to sew a fastener that would close the gap.

Rated 3 out of 5 by goosefeather Beautiful, but...
This blouse is beautiful, and I thought I would love it. I ordered it online, but found my normal size 4 to be HUGE. I tried on a 2 and a 0 in a store. The 0 "fit" best, but I was still slightly underwhelmed by the fit and felt exposed by the v- neck opening when I leaned over. Knowing the style would lose so much if I tried to wear a tank underneath, I decided to return it. If you don't mind the deep opening, it is beautiful, and it could perhaps be pinned to stay closed, but in the end, I didn't find it worth it.
