Rated 3 out of 5 by Hokulele Heavier and larger than expected
This shirt is heavier and stiffer than a typical chambray/denim/cotton button-up. The material feels similar to a bull denim tote bag. You could wear it over a t-shirt (like in the picture) in early autumn and stay warm. It also runs large. I laid it flat underneath another XS J.Crew button-up and this had at least 1.5" extra on either side of the torso. The gold stars are glittery, which was a pretty surprise. I'm not sure how well they'll hold up in the washing machine as some of them are already more 'crackled' than others. Overall, I didn't find it that flattering on its own. Maybe in a smaller size, styled differently...

Rated 4 out of 5 by Megan416 Really Unique Shirt
I saw this shirt in store and passed by it, but I went back to try it on because it stayed on my mind. It's a really unique shirt and is very high quality. As other reviewers have mentioned, it is made from thick and durable fabric. This durability is juxtaposed by the glittery stars that make it much more feminine. My only complaint is that it is so large! I typically wear in x-small in J.Crew shirts and sweaters, but when I tried it on it felt way too boxy. I ordered the xx-small online and it fits much better, but it is still considerably wider than most J.Crew shirts. All in all, I recommend this shirt because of its uniqueness, quality, and because - considering its weight - it can double as a sort of shirt-jacket for fall.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jeanbug Heavy work shirt / Light jacket
I love this shirt! It's a heavy weight work shirt that can be worn as a light jacket too. I will get a lot of wear out of this in the fall. As others have noted, it does run large, so you could easily size down. I got my usual size because the smaller size was sold out in stores, but I actually like the oversized fit. The shoulders fit perfectly, but it's loose in the body. It looks great with the sleeves rolled up, very laid back chic. I personally think it looks frumpy with the sleeves down, so if rolling the sleeves is not your thing, you might not like this shirt. The stars fading over time is not an issue for me because I think it works for this shirt. The worn in, vintage look will make this shirt even better over time!

Rated 4 out of 5 by MaryQuiteContrary Seeing Stars
I wouldn't really refer to this shirt as chambray, much heavier - more like canvas. It's very well made. I love the gold stars; they add just the right touch of sparkle and fun! So far I've worn the shirt over other shirts as a light jacket and it's been great for work in a cool office. Rolling up the sleeves, it carries over nicely for a day-to-night look with some heels and skinny jeans. I've gotten a lot more use out of this shirt then I thought I would, and it'll be a great transitioning piece into fall.

Rated 2 out of 5 by cricket58 Runs big
I was excited to see this shirt offered and thought it would be an alternative to all the chambray and plaid that is typically offered for fall. But this shirt is huge and the material is heavy and stiff, not at all what I expected. It sorted of looked and felt like a work shirt that just happened to have some glam stars thrown on it. It's going back.
