I've never written a product review, but was so disappointed with the flip-flops...
I have bought and loved the classic j-crew flip-flop for years. By the end of the summer, one of the flip-flops usually breaks, so I get a new pair or two each summer. My old ones broke, so I ordered two new pairs and received them in the mail today. They're so cheaply made; the base of the shoe is made of a different material, making it weigh less but feel much less sturdy. One arrived with part of the strap popping out from the bottom of the shoe, and the straps themselves are cut differently, so they go across the foot further back, are thinner, and made with a cheaper plastic. The new version are also a bit narrower, and although the bottom is currently thicker, is more like flip-flops you'd find at a discount store, and will quickly wear down. And the best part, they cost the same amount as the old ones. Currently wearing them, and am worried they may not make it through the day....

Rated 3 out of 5 by Joan Original J Crew flip flop was much better
The original flip flops were much much better and more comfortable because of the thicker bands on top. I wish I'd purchased several in navy blue. Please bring the original style back...

Rated 1 out of 5 by Jillian These are NOT the "classic" flip flops!
These flip flops are a major disappointment if you're accustomed to the classic rubber flip-flops J. Crew has historically sold. These feel and look cheap; they seem to be made with more of a plastic component than the originals and the straps are thin and flimsy. They truly look like something one could buy at a dollar store for half the price. If you're new to the classic flip-flop you likely won't notice and you definitely won't know what you're missing. However, if you're a classic veteran, I recommend making your previous years' models last another season and pray that J. Crew goes back to the OG classic next year! Please bring back the original classic flip flops, J. Crew; these do not measure up to your company's standards!

Rated 1 out of 5 by PrettyGirl Bring back the old style
The old wider strap, smooth footbed flip flops were the best. These new ones are cheaply made and have no substance to them. They are a cheap dime-store version that aren't even as good as those that were sold in the 70's for less than a dollar. Jcrew did offer the Havaianas flip flops in nice summer colors and these were great! Jcrew if you cannot do better on your own, please keep the Havaianas from Brazil.

Rated 2 out of 5 by MissJ new version of yesterdays classics
When I first bought J.Crew Flip Flops, many years ago, they were fantastic! They were unique from other versions, long lasting, and the smooth sole was marvelous. I have been lovingly wearing my (old) Flip Flops but last year I had to buy a new pair and I am not a fan, for two reasons; One, the sole is rough and less pliable. Two, I cannot get rid of the toxic plastic smell - still with me after 10mos! Please bring back the old Flip Flops, they were perfect, and the quality was so superior.
