This shoe is a cece imposter. It looks identical to the old cece online, but the quality and fit just isn't there. I ordered a pair of the dark hydrangea in my usual size and the color was beautiful, but it ended there. The shoe was much larger in length and width and the back goes up too high and felt like it would cause blisters. They also felt cheaper to me. I sent them back. If jcrew returns to the 'made in Italy' version that I loved so much, I would give it another try but this version simply isn't worth the cost.

Just received my flats today. They feel good, although a smidge looser than any of my other Ceces. I was also dismayed to see that these were not stamped "Made in Italy." Time will tell if they live up to the quality of my other six pairs, which have held up really well, despite constant wear. Frankly, another pair of Chinese made shoes is nothing special to me, so I probably won't bother with anymore pairs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Teddy NOT THE OLD CECE BALLET FLAT!!
I was so excited to get the Cece that I had worn in several colors a couple of years ago. However, once I put them on, I was so disappointed! Looks like a cheap version of the Cece and fits like a cheap version as well. They are longer than before, wider than before and not the same flattering shoe. Also, the toe cleavage is gone that was sexy and cute. I doubt these are still made in Italy. Please J Crew try to do the same shoe like before! This isn't it. Unfortunately, it is going back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by daestarr Not as bad as I feared
I hesitated for several months after the new Ceces came out before finally getting these in size 6 deep violet because the reviews were so disappointing. Well, these were on sale so I thought I'd give them a try.
Size: These are longer than my original Ceces. Which work out well for me because those are a bit too tight. I'm a 5.5/6 in the Elsie and 6 in the Martina.
Comfort: Pretty good. I did get blisters in my original Ceces because of the back tab and didn't have this problem with the new ones.
Quality: Made in Romania (not Italy anymore). Which isn't so bad because I have 2 pairs of J.Crew boots made in Romania and they've held up pretty well. I was more disappointed that the insole/lining/sock are no longer leather. Only the upper is leather.
Because these were on sale, I'm keeping them because they're comfy and look nice. But I don't think the quality is worth full price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AV1212 An amazing flat for spring and summer
I don't understand why people are leaving negative reviews for this "new" Cece. I have worn Cece flats for a while and although I always liked the older ones, I like these new ones even better. With the old style I had to size up from a 7.5 to 8 so that they were comfortable in the toe area, but then they'd be a little loose in the heel and sometimes I'd walk out of them. This new Cece fits true to size and I'm wearing my regular 7.5 in both the leather and suede versions and they fit perfectly. They are so comfortable and this peony color is amazing, so bright and unique and surprisingly versatile. Who cares that they're not "Made in Italy" anymore, they're still a great flat for the price and you can sometimes get them on sale. Overall my go-to flat for spring, I just wish the navy suede hadn't sold out so quickly!
