I am 5'1 and I like these shorts because even though I am petite, the length is perfect for me! I don't like showing too much of my legs because I don't like how they look so these chino shorts give me the coverage I want! The fabric is a very durable twill. The fit is perfect meaning not loose, but not tight either. I have them in Navy and the photo makes them look faded, but they are a true, rich navy in person. I also own the Khaki, and it is darker in person than in the photo. I love these shorts and will buy more of them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lynn The best go-to summer shorts ever.
These shorts are perfect for women who want a longer short. They fit absolutely true to size. After I got my first two pairs I ordered seven more. I did not even have to try them on. The color selection was great. Thank for for a great pair of shorts for women who are past their 30's!

Pretty colors and well made but they run smaller than some other 9 inch J Crew shorts I have

Rated 5 out of 5 by KathyF Perfect summer short
This short is a great every day piece of clothing. The fit runs slightly larger as I can wear a 6 or 8 depending upon the cut and the 6 fit great! Nice styling and detail and made from a nice weight cotton. I love the Carmel color of these and also bought the cobalt blue which are fabulous as well! Easy to mix and match. While I primarily bought these for every day I would not hesitate to dress them up for evening!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Patrice If you love the Andie, these will not do
Let me state my bias: I love the Andie short because it skims my body without being constricting. I'm 5' on-the-dot, and I feel most put-together in clothes that don't have little spots where extra fabric poufs out--and that's why I returned these chinos. While the fit through the waist and hips was fine, the seat left too much of that "pouf." My advice: if you have had success with the Andie, stick with that style because the silhouette on the chinos just won't do.
