This was almost exactly what I wanted, a relaxed/slouchy fit sweater to throw on over my shirt or tee when I'm feeling chilly. I bought this one size larger than my normal JCrew size. In my normal size I think the slouch factor would be there but to a lesser degree, more similar to the photo, so not as much as I wanted given I was planing to wear it over my clothes. It's well made, and a nice weight without being heavy or making me too hot, the perfect defense against summer evening chills (I expect it to be a go-to this Fall, too). My only problem is after just a few hours of sitting (road trip), it had pilled where my back was against the seat of the car. I expected more from this company and this price point. Not worth it at the regular price but perhaps OK if you can get it on sale.

Rated 1 out of 5 by smookk Neck is too wide to wear comfortably
I really want to love this sweater. The quality is okay, it's a nice weight and feels good (but it is made in China cashmere).
The problem here is the neck- it is really really wide. Enormously wide. And not even just wide, like a boat neck, but wide and circular. I exchanged the small for an extra small, but it still constantly falls off my shoulders, not in a sexy way but in an uncomfortable, bad way. It's a really boxy cut, which is what I wanted and expected, but the size of the neck is so big that even when I'm standing straight and still, with the front low and gaping a little, it still barely hangs on the edges of my shoulders. I do not have narrow shoulders.
I wanted to love it and kept thinking I could make it work- now I can't return it and can't wear it- what an expensive shame.

love the quality and color of this cashmere sweatshirt. the neckline is great and sleeves are nice and long. HOWEVER, it was very large and boxy. the proportions aren't right (maybe if your are a very busty, very short-waisted woman with long arms). i am 5'10" and 38DD (consistently J.Crew XL). it's not very often that i get to complain about a garment being huge in the chest...this sweatshirt was HUGE in the chest (and short in the length). i have a 'sweatshirt' sweater from a competing company that i did not pay a lot of money for and looks really terrific on, so i was psyched J.Crew was offering the same style in a luxury fabric. NO GO. hope J.Crew tweaks the styling a bit for next year's offering...they aren't that far away. a smaller size would have been too short in the length for me. SAD : (

Rated 5 out of 5 by cecc lovely and comfy sweater
I own the mineral green, for reference 5'5" 140 lb 34D.
The small fits generously but as expected. Going smaller wouldn't work on the arms, so if you want a narrower/slimmer fit, this sweater is not quite what you would want. Has a cropped feel to the length, hits at about waist level. The sweater is comfortable and cozy for chilly cool days in spring. But the wide neck makes it somewhat impractical for the coldest of winter months...unless you layer something under it. The mineral green is brighter and cooler than the computer screen shows, and it looks heathered. No pilling on my sweater so far.
Would definitely purchase in more colors.

Love the idea of this garment. I have ordered it before, a few years ago. I absolutely love the neck, a very flattering boat neck. The cut in the body is boxy, but does not drape well. It's just big across the bodice and down the sides. It doesn't have the cut of a well designed over-sized, comfy sweater. I keep hoping I can make it work, but so far am still undecided. I normally wear a small or extra small in J Crew sweaters..( small in the collection cashmere v-neck) and in this sweater I had to go with the xxs. By the way, the sleeves are not full length on me, more like 3/4 length, but I have long arms.
