Rated 3 out of 5 by JacquelineD Runs Smaller than Past Seasons
I would like to preface this by saying that my wardrobe is almost exclusively J Crew, so I actually own this sweater in multiple colors. Right now I am a little orange obsessed so I ordered this in the neon persimmon and the cantaloupe, both in a size medium (I wear a S or M in all J Crew sometimes a 6 as I am busty but have a narrow waist) and the Medium was super tight and much shorter than I remember. I ended up exchanging them for larges but this is the first time I have ever bought a large at J Crew and I compared it to the same sweater from last year and it seemed much smaller in comparison, and if anything I am smaller this year than I have been previously (thank you pilates). I mostly wanted to share this as the quality and colors are excellent, but to those who might be ordering this, no shame in ordering a size up - its a little smaller this year! Enjoy!

Before purchasing my sweater, I checked the size charts. I fall in the medium range. However , since I have purchased other Jcrew cashmere I purchased a large this time. If you have a long body at all , the cardigan will reach closer to top of pant leaving a gap. Certainly not to the top of leg as shown in the photo of the item. The cardigan is very soft, well made and cute, just shorter than shown .

I wasn't sure what size to get--I just had a baby and am heavier in the chest than I have been before, making me go up a size at least. I got the medium in black, and the large in the tidewater.
The black fits ok--nice length in the body. I may have to go up a size just so I can comfortably button it over my chest.
The tidewater color is at least 2 inches shorter, it's more like a cropped cardigan, and the arms are super tight. And it's a LARGE, while the black is a MEDIUM.
So, both are probably going back. The tidewater I will just return and hope to exchange the black one, although the medium is doable, I just can't button it over my chest.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Tippi "Bracelet" sleeves not mentioned in description.
I dislike "bracelet" and "3/4" sleeves, as I find them unflattering and uncomfortable (I am constantly trying to pull them down or push them up). I was looking specifically for a lightweight cardigan with long sleeves; unfortunately, J. Crew did not mention that this cardigan has abbreviated sleeves. I was disappointed by this, and also by the overall fit-- it was much smaller and skimpier in fit than the many J. Crew cardigans I've owned before (for reference I'm 5'6", very slim build, have always worn J. Crew sweaters in small). I would say it is more "fitted" than the usual cardigan offerings, but that makes it sound more flattering than it was on me. Will return.

Love, love, love this sweater. I own 3 and wear them constantly year round at work & at home. Perfect layer when the AC is too high and light enough to throw in your bag just in case. Very soft.
