I know there are more positive reviews on this item than negative, but that does not mean that the quality and fit of this jacket is up to par. I've been shopping J. Crew since Lauren Hutton graced her first catalog cover. For one, it's obvious that J. Crew is pushing this blazer as the new "IT" blazer, while fazing out the Schoolboy. The Regent's collar does not fold down, which limits the jacket's versatility. The sleeves are too narrow; the body is too long and boxy; and there is only one button, which sits too low on a high waist. The lining is also not smooth enough to allow for a shirt to fit comfortably underneath. J. Crew has found yet another way to cut back on details (a collar that doesn't fold down is a collar that requires less fabric to make!) in a bid to save money. This blazer may be acceptable to younger and/or newer customers, but it is a major fail in execution and style for those of us who have been around long enough to know when we're being snowed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by coco2293 Great Jacket, but!
Bought the camel colored jacket in my usual size 4. Fit was good except the sleeves are very narrow, felt like my arms looked like sausages. Exchanged for a 6, arms were great but then the over all fit was too big. Sadly returned again. This is a beautiful jacket if you have very very thin arms.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Denver Fit for narrow, "shrunken" shoulders
Disappointed - I ordered the size T4 I wear in all of my J Crew wool suiting and read reviews in advance. I am 5' 10", 135 lbs, with a small frame. The shoulders were much too narrow and sleeves a bit tight as reviews mentioned, while fit was nice in all other places. Tailoring and fabric are quality I expect of J Crew, but in a disproportionate fit for anyone with my size/stature, even in Tall. I am disappointed to return, but the next size up would be much too large in the body.

Rated 3 out of 5 by EveL Achilles heel: scratchy wool stand-up collar
Like other reviewers I loved the longer length of this blazer, and the fit was super flattering. I thought I had found a perfect fall blazer until I wore it for a few hours culminating in a long walk across campus and realized that the wool stand-up collar isn't lined, which means that it rubs against your neck. It doesn't seem scratchy at first but it is very irritating to sensitive skin. I had to return but would definitely buy a subsequent iteration with a lined collar.

I am absolutely thrilled about the quality and fit of this blazer. I tried on and returned the J.Crew Schoolboy blazer earlier this summer because its length was a bit too short for my torso (I am 5'6" but I don't like cropped clothing for work). I love the longer length of the Regent blazer and the single button is well-placed so that it doesn't pucker when buttoned. I also appreciate that I can wear the collar either up (as shown on the model) or down. I find that the Regent blazer fits true-to-size; I own several J.Crew blazers from several years back in a size 4 and that is what I ordered the Regent blazer in-- and it fits great. I don't find the sleeves to be too tight. I ordered the warm caramel color and find it just a smidge darker than the photo, which I don't mind at all. It pairs well with dark jeans or my navy curator pants.
