Rated 2 out of 5 by BeckyG22 Nice fit but material too thin and see-through
I purchased this dress in vintage champagne but it has a peach/blush undertone to it, so you cannot pair it with black or navy or yellow. I had many ideas for jackets to wear over it for work but no color looks right with it. The material is very cheap and thin. Undergarments are visible underneath, as are the pockets. It might be better in one of the darker colors but the cheap fabric is not worth the price. It does fit pretty well and is true to size.

To echo other reviewers, the Vintage Champagne fabric is very thin and translucent - not only did the pockets show through but also even the most forgiving pair of undergarments. Based on other J.Crew pieces, I thought the crepe material would be thicker. The color also has a slight blush/nude undertone that made it difficult to match with a blazer. Overall fit was okay, but really long, hitting an inch or two below the knee. With the length, the overall fit was unflattering. Unfortunately, I have to send this one back.

Totally agree with the previous reviewer of the champagne being too thin/see through. The material is not up to Jcrew quality standards.
I purchased a size 2 - my usual size in all Jcrew suiting dresses (I am 5'6", 135-140lbs with a straight frame, 34A). This dress is long - goes below the knee so makes my calves look thick. Also, it's huge in the waist/rear - not attractive; and way too much material in the chest - I'm an A cup so maybe a C or D could fill the chest in!
Overall, not impressed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Rosie I wanted to love it.
I wanted to love this dress and thought it would be a great dress that transitioned from the office to an after work event. The length of the dress is just past the knees on me at 5'5" and it looks frumpy and loose. The crepe material is thin and is just not flattering when it falls on you. I thought it might be similar to the classic and beautifully fitting Emmaleigh.

This is a great dress - pretty cream/off white color. I do not find it to be particularly see-through, but I wear neutral undergarments for sure with this dress. If it is too tight, I could see it being more of a problem. The length is a tad-long (hits mid-knee and I am 5'11), but I think it makes the dress look more professional and appropriate for work or an evening business function.
