Cap-sleeve dress in glen plaid

Rated 2 out of 5 by The dreaded exposed zipper... again!! Please J. Crew... please stop. the. exposed.zipper. It's making me so sad. It's dated and tawdry. You keep letting a classic girl down. I was ready to invest in the Monday dress... the long sleeve ponté midi dress... and now this great glen plaid silhouette... only to either not see a photo of the back but read "exposed back zip" in the descriptions or see the dealbreaking gold teeth. I WANT to give you my money (I do!) so I can continue to build upon a beautiful timeless work wardrobe. I've shopped J. Crew since I was in college and 10 years later still want the love affair to continue. Instead my one-stop has become an occasional surprise at best. Sigh. I would rather pay more for classic tailoring and still have all of your fabulous cuts and flourishes that make you cutting edge. The exposed zip is not that. September 14, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Exposed zipper? Why? I love a cap sleeve dress. the resume is my favorite. I wanted to add this one to the collection but the exposed gold back zipper is a no go. It ruins the dress everytime. I'd rather pay more for better quality and have a classic dress. This exposed back zip trend will soon die out and so will this dress. J crew stay with your classic roots, don't follow trends. September 14, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Exposed zipper The dress is very office appropriate until you realized it has an exposed zipper in the back. Exposed zippers are not office appropriate at conservative work places. Equivalent of wearing fishnet stockings or lace dress to work. Can't wear this at the firm. I would have bought immediately. Zipper was a deal breaker though. September 17, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Cap sleeves are a miss I love the plaid and material in this dress. The fit was TTS. The colors are beautiful for the fall. The problem is that it is another sleeveless dress - actually, it is worse because there is a slight cap. If it was truly sleeveless, I'd have purchased it and I'd wear it as a jumper with a tissue turtleneck or shirt underneath. I did try it with a turtleneck, but it just didn't look right with the cap sleeve. Further, I didn't want to have to pay additional $$ to have the tailor remove the caps. I realize that I can wear it with a blazer, but that is sometimes too warm and ruins the beauty of the lines of a dress. J.Crew, there are still many offices and firms that frown on sleeveless clothing, please make more dresses with sleeves! September 21, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Gorgeous Dress for FW season I have to disagree with other comments. The dress is classy. The gold zipper doesn't bother me since it doesn't really pop out. I think the cap sleeves actually make my arms slimmer. The only downside is it was too long for me (5'2""). I have a jcrew card so they give me free alteration:) I will wear this dress to work at least twice a week;) September 21, 2016
