Product Details

You don't have to be a bridesmaid—or even be invited to a wedding—to wear this cute cocktail dress. It's made from a lightweight silk chiffon that drapes beautifully and takes colors particularly well. The deep (but totally wearable) V-neckline was hand draped for a flattering effect and the shorter skirt lets you show off your legs. If you are a bridesmaid, this is the dress you'll definitely wear again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Beautiful Dress, Ran Small for Me The dress is beautiful and well made, but I found it to run very small, particularly in the chest/waist. For reference, I am 4'10", ~108 lbs and a 32AA and I usually wear (or squeeze into) a 0, so I initially ordered a P0. When it arrived, I found that I couldn't zip up the dress. I then exchanged it for a P2, but that was still too small. I then ordered a P4 but it felt very tight in the chest/waist. By that point I was not sure of my sizing, so I was luckily able to go to a J.Crew store that had wedding dresses to try on. As I wanted to move comfortably (and be able to go for seconds at the reception buffet!), I sized up to a P6. I would highly recommend trying on in person if your nearest J.Crew store offers that. I ordered the Parisian Yellow, which is a lovely pale yellow color. The dress hit an inch or so below the knee on me. I did have to shorten the straps by about an inch, but if you are taller than me (which you probably are) you probably won't have to worry about that. November 2, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Probably best on those with small busts I ordered this dress in a P6 based on my measurements, and the sizing chart on the website. This dress was significantly too large in the torso, and I think I should have sized down to a P4 or even a P2. I'm disappointed that the sizing chart was not accurate for this dress. As well, the draped fabric over the bodice looks very awkward if you have any sort of bust because it crosses over your left breast. July 28, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by cute dress fit is odd I really loved the look of this dress online. It took me a few times to get the size right. It is very snug in the ribs and for some reason my usual size did not fit at all. Maybe I have very wide ribs but overall I am a pretty petite person. Even the size up was snug. November 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this Dress - Great for Petites I ordered this dress in 00 petite, soft peach for my brother's wedding. I was very pleasantly surprised by this dress. The quality and fit are impeccable.I'm not always a huge chiffon fan, but this dress is beautiful. Normally I have to get items from j.crew altered, as they can be too long or too boxy on me, but not this dress. The petite proportions are just right. I like that I can wear a normal bra with this dress and feel comfortable (I won't be pulling up a strapless dress all night). However, if you are bustier, the top part of the dress might be too tight. The soft peach is really pretty. It looks more like a light ballerina pink in person. I'm still pretty tan from the summer, and I really like the color with my tan skin September 19, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Odd Sizing I'm 5'2" and weigh around 100 lbs. I normally disregard reviews that say an item runs small because I have found that it actually works better for my skinny petite frame. I haven't tried dresses with thin straps of this kind so it may be due to my unique Asian body type, but the straps were simply too long. I usually get 00P but went with 00 and the rib cage fits like a very tight glove, which wasn't an issue for me -- I could still breathe. But the straps... If I were to wear this, I absolutely had to get them taken in for about 1.5-2 inches. For those ladies who run across this same issue, I was told by a tailor that such alterations are actually very difficult to do and hence I would be charged about $100. The bright side: my mother is a tailor, so she's working on the dress at the moment, but for others I am doubtful this dress is that pretty enough to invest so much (I bought this to wear as a cocktail dress, fyi) + all the time-consuming hassles. I hope this review was helpful. May 13, 2016
