The quality of the wool and silk used in this blazer is excellent. It is mid-weight, making it seasonless. It is quite a deep, dark navy - almost black from far away.
I usually wear a 10 in blazers to accomodate my broad shoulders, but deliberately ordered a 12 so that I can layer up in winter. I think I would have been OK ordering the 10, as the cut of the blazer is not as fitted as I thought. The length is great and works on me even though I am long-waisted.
The only drawback with the blazer is the buttons. Even though they are secured in the back with a discreet navy button, they seem flimsily sewn on for such a high-quality blazer.

Very nicely made - goes great with casual look (ballet flats and skinny jeans) for the weekend. Two things to note: It's a little boxier in the midsection that I anticipated it being and this makes it less sexy (great for office). Also, the buttons really stand out (they're GOLD), so you end up paring down jewelry and other accessories to balance out the look.

Absolutely love my new Schoolboy Blazer in Navy! Is the perfect piece for every wardrobe: classic, chic, and versatile. I love styling it with a silk cami and silk-jacquard Capri pants for a formal modern look, but also with skinny jeans and linen T's for a relaxed weekend look. I usually wear size 0 for all my J Crew jackets and blazers, but this one felt a little tight in the back, so I purchased a size 2 (I am 5.5 and weight around 125 lbs). Perfect for spring mornings and honestly all year round!

Great blazer, well made. I tried the new schoolboy blazer in navy size 4 and the classic blazer in navy size 2 to compare, and preferred the slightly longer length of the new schoolboy (one inch longer). The fit between size 2 classic and size 4 new was similar, I usually wear size 4 in other clothes and would say the new schoolboy blazer is true to size. Details between the classic and the new are very similar, the extra button on the sleeve, the extra pocket and the different lining are the only changes I can tell - the quality between classic and new seems identical and I have worn it a lot already.

Rated 5 out of 5 by bobeau love the increased length
I will start by saying that I own the Classic Schoolboy Blazer (style 28233) prior to owning this one. Both are the same material, different lining. While the Classic Schoolboy Blazer fits me nicely, I really love the longer body length of this style. The extra inch on the body has totally helped with a longer silhouette. I was able to see the difference the second I was in it.
